Ex-Kansas GOP chair switches affiliation TOPEKA, Kan. - The former chairman of the Kansas Republican Party jumped ship in a big way Tuesday, switching his affiliation to Democrat amid speculation that he would become Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' running mate. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060530/ap_on_el_ge/kansas_governor_s_race;_ylt=AkW6oOLtKWzUFjGkdjK5SGmWwvIE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OXIzMDMzBHNlYwM3MDM-

2. Happy to see them change their affiliation.... |
|
not interested in seeing them slide into political leadership positions. Let them earn their way up the chain.

4. Seems to me that the Democratic Party needs to be VERY careful.... |
|
... about who it gives funding to...
I don't think they can stop someone from becoming a Democrat, but they do have control over some money. It would suck to all hell to have a bunch of republicans change letters, but not change policy, and be simply a wolf in sheep's clothing, just because the "good name" of the republican party has been ruined.
republicans are like locusts - they destroy one party, and a country, then they move onto the next party, and the next country. God republican voters are amoral apathetic bigoted idiots.

That would end any public career he envisioned for himself...
No way the Republicans would take him back..
This is exactly the kind of event Dean's 50 state strategy is designed to foster. Earlier today on Kos he was talking about how Ben Nelson was allowing himself to become more identified as a Democrat, than trying to downplay that relationship. And then in Kansas we have this crossover.
These are good developments, and we need to accept them.
