I think I need an intervention DU
could someone ban me for just like 24 hours. I've literally sat at this site all day today. This site is such a double edged sword to me. On one hand I feel a solidarity here that I don't feel with some lifelong friends. That's the good thing. The bad thing is reading DU all day raises my frustration and hoplessness factor to dangerous levels of depression and darker thoughts I dare not speak.

P.S. I'm only kidding of course. Please don't ban me because I don't think they'll take me at the local rehab for forum withdrawal.

2. You need to do something totally soulfull - plant a garden, mentor
a kid, have a neighbourhood party, buy 10 donkeys for people in Africa. Really - you cannot just do this politics in these times and stay balanced. You need to connect to something good and worthwhile part of the time. DU is worthwhile and mostly about cutting through bullcrap.

11. That's what I do when I'm reading and not typing.
I didn't have much weed today so I've been typing a lot.

3. I can empathize.
I sometimes sit down and start reading DU, and suddenly it is 6 hours later!!!! The only reason I get up is that my dog comes over and lets me know that it is time to take him out or feed him.

There's your answer! Get a dog!!! :D  :hi:

5. Got one. Check my new avatar.
But she's old and sleeps to much to be a very good distraction.

9. i understand, i used to use DU for hope in a chaotic crumbling world, But.
i now see it as the best source of information.. it has REAL News that is timely and and from sane, respectable, rational and intelligent people.

this is Samsara, it isn't going to get any better.. but our salvation is doing what we can.. even tho it probably wont actually do any good in the long run. Intension and perseverance with a smile in the face of overwhelming obstacles is the Noble Eight Fold Path to Enlightenment.

13. Honey, DO something that adds beauty to your life.
Edited on Tue May-30-06 11:20 PM by Just Me
DO something for one of your lifelong friends that shows your appreciation of him/her.

DO something that adds beauty to your personal space (I do flowers, mostly,...plus, I got loving creatures, too!).

DO something that acknowledges life: spend a few moments listening to the sounds outside your personal space (birds are mine) or SEEING a natural wonder above and beyond human control or observing any moment of human gratitude and sweetness.

Life is SOOOOO much bigger than this itsy bitsy cyberspace in the universe. If you happen to be in a place where the sky is clear and there's not too much "city light",...look up and just imagine,...being born with the capacity to see something bigger than you AND you are a piece of all that.

14. Thanks for the therapy
even though I kept it loaded up in another tab (cheating I know) I stepped away for a little bit and posted some videos on my website. Check it. This is the result of your good works.
