My e-mail to Publix supermarkets re: religious books |
|
"Dear Sirs:
A revolving cart of Christian books and literature appeared in your Coral Ridge deli department yesterday, and replaced the usual secular "take a number" device with a pleasurable spiritual diversion to those waiting on service.
I was later dismayed to not find the Judaic, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Shinto, Tao, Native American, Agnostic or Scientology merchandisers scattered throughout the supermarket/place of worship. Perhaps they were not yet assembled?
Please notify me when Publix offers a true selection of religious dogma to peruse and buy while grocery shopping. Until then I will start shopping elsewhere."
-self explanatory, Ft. Lauderdale Publix now sells Christ.

Tell him you want to find out more about Zoroastrianism as well. They are the ones who say "Good thoughts, good words, good deeds".

13. Not true. Founded in our area...they were good people. |
|
They were mostly Southern Baptists. They are well known in our area. A few of the founders' kids are a wee bit overboard Republican, but most are not.
The founder, George Jenkins, was no fundamentalist. The Hollis family were and are Southern Baptist, but mostly moderate.
That said, quality is changing. It used to be great quality, now it isn't. We can't get good meat from them anymore. They bought out Crispers and quality went down there. I heard they were in the process of acquiring Carrabas, but not sure on that.

12. You'd think they'd have some Jewish lit, but I can see why they wouldn't |
|
sell other religious literature. It all comes down to their bottom line. They're in business to make money and when it comes down to it Buddhists Muslims, Taoist and other make up a very small percentage of the population.
