Are we catching on?
Is our country's collective "heart" going to be forever dominated by our macho mind?

This country, USA, appears so heartless to me.

So war loving.
So uncaring.
So dead.

Please excuse me...I'm a little bummed right now with all the "war on everthing" mindset and the tragic loss of life and liberty that surrounds us.
Dark days indeed.

1. Who you calling war loving, or uncaring?

It's GOT to get better!
"It's always darkest before the dawn." How's that for some shared optimism?

Edit to add:

Consider this. We're hearing many horrible stories that are getting out there. Perhaps
many more people are also, and might reconsider who they're supporting and why, especially
when it's looking more and more hopeless.

2. It does feel like a dark cloud is hanging
overhead. But, I am the optimist. I honestly think things are going to change.

4. It's ugly. Please hang in there. We're all we have.
I'm not happy here. But there ARE good people here.

There are fascists everywhere. However, I would have rather grown up in Europe.

But we're here.

Today I heard a blues tune. An old black man sings about how he's in Germany, and the people are so cool. And how he's getting his papers ready so he can make London his home. The people in the usa just don't understand.

It's songs like that that make me sorry I'm 50. Because I would leave.

Here's a scene from the movie Smoke Signals. The two boys are getting ready to go on their trip. Two native american boys, with their mothers sending them off.

Velma: You guys got your passports?
Thomas Builds-the-Fire: Passports?
Velma: Yeah, you're leavin' the rez and goin' into a whole different country, cousin.
Thomas Builds-the-Fire: But... but, it's the United States.
Lucy: Damn right it is! That's as foreign as it gets. Hope you two have your vaccinations.

5. Re:
I have faith that it'll get better.

Like another person said: "it's the darkest before the dawn". I am still relatively confident that the neo-cons will be held accountable for their bankrupt morals and corruption.

The truth is so obvious that it's painful. We only have to wait patiently a little longer.

6. Hang in there Shred
We've been sold the military ethos since the forties(at least). We as a people have the capacity for so much good that we will win in the end. The biggest problems we face are being too busy getting through the day or ignoring the distractions around us. Keep the faith and spread the word, we'll get there!
