Haditha is going to be a fuckin DISASTER for Bush
Edited on Wed May-31-06 12:47 AM by Proud2BAmurkin
This is going to be worse than anything the incompetent has had to deal with yet. The Marines or their commanders won't be held responsible because a huge majority knows they were sent there unprepared for what they're facing.

Nope, this will fall directly under the category of preventable disasters caused only by a shitty incompetent administration. Pissypants will never recover.

1. We have been saying that "pissypants won't recover" for the
past two years or so. Nothing will happen to him. It will be someone else's fault and then Rove and his media puppets will make it go away.

Shrub will NEVER take responsibility for anything that happens during his time in office...nor will he have to.

18. He didn't get to 30% by being Mr Teflon.
They have been ultra careful to always leave wiggle room and an out for every shitty thing he's done.

However the reality has overwhelmed their ability to deceive. The bastard is going down.

20. They'll blame it on the blogs,
saying that our scribblings have upset the troops about being "at war."

negative for Bush.

It's not a topic that lends itself to much spin, and that includes the murderous pukes over at FOX News. This is one of those mostly-unspinnable topics.

I think the political damage to Bush will be slight at first, and then gather and become very difficult for him as summer goes on.

Rumsfeld is very likely the first visible administration victim -- I think a dialogue in the press and media etc will result in his having to step down.

Bush, while he's not on the ballot in November, is all BUT on the ballot, and this is one of those kinds of incidents that will keep him on the minds of voters, whether his name is on any slot or not.

I agree with you, Proud2BAmurkin.

I would love nothing more than to watch that fucking criminal get what he deserves.

9. Hi, driver8. Well, I'm HOPING that Bush encounters pressure from
all quarters, with virtually everybody calling for Rumsfeld's ouster.

He should never have been appointed in the first place, and once there, should have been fired after Abu Ghraib.

When I saw Evan Bayh, for godsake, suggesting that Rumsfeld leave, and then watch Bush do nothing, I realized that Bush is far worse than I ever dreamed. And I'd always dreamed he was a monster.

Ned Lamont could be the strange beneficiary of this next month or so's news events. If the Haditha murders become front-and-center, it not only hurts Bush's incentive to strike Iran, but it also puts pressure on him to dump Uncle Don. If Rumsfeld leaves, Joe Liebeman might well be his replacement.

Which would put Ned Lamont in a tantamount victory for that senate seat.

3. The Commandant of Marines is not going to pull any punches...
on this one. After a thorough investigation, he is going to have these Marines' heads on a platter if they are guilty.

If anything, doing so will probably insulate Bush, Rummy and the whole cabal.

25. It won't mean SHIT to the troops IF no Leaders are held accountable ...
You want to talk about morale? It will be ZERO if Bush-Co continues to use the LAME excuse of "a few bad apples."

No, this is going to be devastating not only for the BushBotBorg, but it's a tragic situation for our Country's reputation. During WWII, Americans tried like hell to hold up the image of "the good guys." Sure, I know that war crimes occurred on our side then too. HOWEVER, we as a people, as a NATION always deferred to The Geneva Convention in public. These neo-con bastards may not be held accountable but they'll pay come November. You can take that to the bank.

The American People are easily distracted, but we are NOT clueless. Someone HIGH UP MUST be held accountable for this *atrocity* ... and it's not the INDIVIDUAL troops but the LEADERSHIP who must be served-up for JUSTICE.

11. Sometimes, I don't care about them either...
I care about the ones in Haditha, who may have murdered by Marines. But when the Taliban pulls out a body of woman or a kid from rubble that was hit buy a bomb I don't sweat it much.

When a guy decides to hide Taliban or Al Qaeda in the same house where his family resides, the blame falls soley on him and the Al Qaeda and Taliban for hiding behind kids and women.

Kind of like it is okay to snipe at American troops from a mosque but so outrageous when the Americans dare to shot that same mosque in their defense.

7. He'll just blame it on the commanders
He'll blame the commanders and field officers for it and say it wasn't an operation ordered by the white house. There will be a court marshall, couple guys go to jail, and that will be the end of it.

I know how PR works in Washington.

8. in a way the affect on Bush is beside the point....what have we become?
I mean, it SHOULD torpedo any poll numbers remaining.
but this whole thing makes me just impossibly sad.
After Abu Graib, we had to realize that our leaders had turned this country into a nation that countenances torture.
Must we now come to grips that we're a nation that countenances heinous war crimes?
My thoughts are with those terrified children....and the poor young marine that had to retrieve the body of a child with her head nearly blown off.

I just feel like crying.

13. I know a little of how you must feel.
I am a big, strong, physically powerful man (or was) and I have spent most of this day crying like a fool or on the verge of tears. Hopefully the latest war crime revelations, coupled with bulldog Senselessbrenner's outrage at the attacks on seperation of powers violations, will accomplish more than the previous impeachable offenses to cut the legs from under this criminal enterprise.

14. What we have become is the sad question.
To deployed troops, they do their missions.

To our country, Bush says no sacrifice is necessary other than for the families serving.

Of course these troops are doing it to see the world or for education money. They are the sacrifice of the rich elitist's here. The elitists won't send their own.

W and his minions make me literally sick to my stomach. They use our poor and middle class kids to enable corporate global profits.

17. Don't hold your breath.
The harsh reality is he's survived everything else: Katrina, signing statements, openly spitting on the Constitution, lying, corruption/cronyism in his administration, running up the deficit to insane amounts, the utter debacle/quagmire of Iraq. A Democratic President would have been tarred, feathered and run out of town long ago by Republicans. Bush has survived it all. He's still there. Still not impeached. Still sneering and laughing at us while his oil & other corporate buddies get richer and richer. And he's just itching to go after Iran and has got 2 more years to do it.

28. Nothing will happen to him.
Nothing ever will happen to him. The repugnantcans will protect him. Even if the Democrats win one or both houses in November, nothing will happen to bushler. Democrats have shown they are ruthless when bringing down one of their own but ineffectual in stopping bush. I have always felt bush wants to drop a nuclear bomb on someone because no other president had the balls to do it. And you know what? He will, and there is nothing we can do about it.

that I heard Hannity...YES HANNITY! saying that we shouldn't "rush to judgement".

If only he would practice what he preaches when it comes to Democrats.

FYI - As a bleeding heart liberal active duty military member who has had to hear Rush and Hannity call me a "tresonous, terrorist sympathizing, communist French Surrender Monkey"...I only ask one thing. When the Democrats regain control of our government, can I please....please....PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON IT, have one hour alone in a room with Rush and Sean???
