1. This game will be a titanic flop
If you know anything about the market. I highly question how many of the freaky fundie folks actually let their kids have Playstations or X-Boxes. (PS2, PS3 or X-Box, or X-Box 360 it really doesn't matter the platform.) Unless this is a PC game...in which case the fundies will discover just how much a decent gaming computer actually costs.

Then again most religiously based video games of the past have been monumentally bad...

10. Not unlike the people who loved Counterstrike and played as Terrorists?

I think the fundies as the 'good guys' vs. everyone else would be a turn off...not to mention the negative publicity this is getting is the kind that most gamers would listen to.

Many of the gamers I know of hate to be told what to play because of moral content (from the left...good job working on those soccer moms Hillary...) :eyes:

They also hate religious themed games in general (from the right.)

Since this appears to be a bloody affair of a game I hope that most gamers will look beyond this (they sometimes do.) I am sure that the promoters of this game see the violence and blood of the game as one of it's selling points. Beleive it or not, there have been some awfully gory games in the past that have been flops due to multiple other shortcomings. Unless the game play is revolutionary phenomenal and groundbreaking (and lets face it...ground breaking and revolutionary are not words that are usually attached to fundie endeavors) it probably won't make a dink in the market.

There is a reason why Rockstar (of GTA 3 fame) has made a good deal of money with their violent games...the game play is AMAZING and the game itself is INCREDIBLY well designed and in a spectacularly immersive world with music and personality to go with it. I don't foresee the fundie game as having that...although IMHO slaughering thousands to the tune of "Onward Christian Soldiers" would be ultra creepy.

2. They're fucking insane
We better take back this country and get those people on meds. They shouldn't be forced to live on their own. I'm sure we could find a nice, safe place for them. Right next door to their buddy, Andrea Yates.

3. I propose the following game.... The hero kills the person who destroyed..
the library of maps in Greece and replaced the very accurate maps of the known world with maps that resembled Christ. This set back mankind having accurate maps of Europe about 1000 years. 2 points for killing those people responsible f9or that and you win the game if you wipe the whole organization of gangsters responsible.

The hero that kills the person responsible for the attack on Galileo because he said the sun was the center of the universe, gets 2 points and wins the game if he wipes the organization responsible off the face of the earth.

Same as above with those who persecuted Issac Newton for describing gravity. Same for those who are stopping stem cell research. Same for those that oppose the morning after pill, 2nd chance pill and the vaccine that fights the virus that causes uterine cancer.

Wipe that organization out and win the game.

4. You're talking about destroying the Catholic Church (mostly)
Hate to break the news to you, but the fundies hate Catholics just enough to imbibe in that for very different reasons than yours.

6. Whatever the name that crowd is using today.....
The Church, The Catholic church, the fundies..... I could care less about the distinctions.... the organized gang of scum that has perpetrated the above listed past, present and future anti human crimes on us deserves wiping from the earth.

Someday I hope they either change their ways.... which I doubt.... (see aboves 2,000 year history) or just wipe them out so the world can progress.

I mean that in only the nicest most constructive way, of course. Really.

13. I've been here a while
I've read a post about the Pope going to Auschwitz and giving a speech and read 300+ venomous posts attacking him. And then another post on the Holocaust-denying President of Iran with dozens of posts apologizing for his comments taken out of context.

You can attack Christianity all you want here, but criticism of the Religion of Peace has to be prefaced by paragraphs of anti-Christian comments first.

Í was just surprised at the venom unleashed by a stupid video game. I imagine if an Islamic version of this game was created it would be seen as a harmless response to Bush's militaristic imperialism. (though I doubt anyone here would actually buy the game)

Thanks for replying nicely to my rude (stupid?) question.

15. I guess it can from cruising through the 911 conspiracy dungeon
From all the LIHOP and MIHOP theories I stopped seeing anything on who actually flew the planes. Thousands of posts on Bushco, BFEE, Rove etc. etc. and so little on the other aspects. That and a whole bunch more bombings in Iraq.

I guess I just got annoyed when a stupid game got such angry posts.

9. Really?
I haven't seen a whole lot of these non-critical posts. Perhaps you would be good enough to link to a few of them?

From what I've seen, folks here have a pretty good understanding of what the terrorists were trying to accomplish by flying planes into buildings, as well as what a reasonable and measured response to the surviving planners of the crime should be. Killing thousands of people who had nothing to do with the attacks and spending our country into penury is not a reasonable and measured response.

18. And...
No one dies at KKK rallies, either.

Intolerence and hate put into a box, and then sold to WILLING consumers... that's what this game is.
