We don't belong there. The countries are NOT ours. We are invaders in Iraq and attackers in Afghanistan. What the insurgents and Taliban does in those countries in attacking US troops is the real "self defense."

I agree with your general observation: as the clear aggressor nation in Iraq, and as most likely the aggressor nation in Aghanistan our occupation forces are not 'defensive'. However our troops when attacked are also clearly 'defending themselves'. I want our kids out of there, I want them out yesterday, but I don't want them coming out in a box.
