In our current Republic there are a certain percentage of people that are denied the right to vote. In Ohio there are at least 100,000 people who were unable to vote during the November 2004 elections. There are most likely similar numbers throughout the United States.
Our Democracy depends on the ability of the citizen to exercise his or her right to vote and the assurance that his or her vote will be truthfully and accurately reported.
This right is vital because it goes to the core of the idea of democracy. In order for the decisions of a Republic to be binding each citizen that is qualified to vote must have a fair chance to do so. In the event that a citizen is not given a fair chance to vote then it can be argued that any decisions made in that election were made without his or her consent.
Therefore it could be argued that your place in our sacred Republic has been stolen from you.
Jim Crow is still alive and well.
Please feel free to act accordingly, consider the title of this post when thinking on how to react to this travesty that has been visited upon you.
Good day

2. Frankly, I'm surprised nothing's happened yet. |

However, if the machine doesn't work fairly this next time, I'm putting money on something happening before the end of the year, especially if there's another bad hurricane.

3. I think the main reason nothing has happened yet... |

is because people don't realize the enormity of what has happened to them.
It's like when you get your pocket picked.
