Why my friend's brother is rooting for the Wash. Redskins... |
|
" Because the coach is a Christian."
My friend is a very religious woman and ( I think she's a bushie ) BUT even she finds this line of reasoning irrational.

Which NFL coaches are not Christian? If they're anything like the general population, all but three or four subscribe to that religion.
What religion is Mike Holmgren?

5. In the words of the immortal Hunter S. Thompson... |
|
regarding the '70's-era Offensive Epithets, "Any team with both God and Nixon on its side is fscked from the start."
CAW! CAW! CAW!
Is it just as irrational for me to root against any team that has a prominent fundie (coach or player), say Florida St. or Georgia as well as the Epithets?

8. So what happens when Washington plays a team coached by another |
|
Christian? Is there some sort of Ecumenical Coin Flip? Do you cheer for the team coached by the guy who went to church most recently? Is it Denominational?
I don't get people. I really don't.

'cause you KNOW how much GOD just LOVES football! He is sooooo concerned about who is winning the game.
Everyone knows HE helps those guys run faster and tackle better. That "other team" that is praying and saying "Hi Mom" and "I thank God and Jesus for helping me score that TD" are just a bunch of liars or else they're just doing it (loving God) all wrong.
