9. I am not surprised
Remember, last year, after the first Iraqi election, how he defended Bush's actions?

He got in to a debate with Wes Clark about it, if I recall correctly?

He is a funny man, a quick man, but I don't think he is as smart as he likes to think he is.

Steven Corbert on the other hand is a very very smart man.

24. I'm still reeling after seeing that
He sat there and justified the president of the United States BREAKING THE LAW.

Pleaze Mr. Bill tell us now you bonehead why anyone in the country should obey the law? After all, we can all come up with some excuse to justify committing crime. Oh, it's different if our lord of the flies does it, huh? he's protectin us from turrurists. Doesn't think much about bin laden, but he's protectin us.

For some reason I thought Maher was an intelligent man. And maybe he is. Maybe he's decided which side he wants a seat on. Collaborator, fascist enabler, terrorist, traitor. I'll never ever watch him in anything again.

Now I feel better. Big mistake watching that few minutes of Larry King. I rarely ever do that, and I swear I never will again. I don't need that kind of shock and awe.

30. Mahrer Bit On The Distortion...Hasn't Been The First Time
He actually thought the elections in Iraq really were a good thing. Hey Bill...tell that to all the corpses that now line Iraqi cemetaries and their grieving families that have died since waiving those purple fingers.

The "beat your wife" game here is the scenario that somehow Mohammed Atta's calls are being tapped and the 9/11 plot or a similar one (Brooklyn Bridge anyone? Yeah, I know it was supposed to be dismantled in broad daylight) like it's some edition of "24"...you've only got so much time before the plane hits the building. But Mahrer and others who suck on this trick seem to know little about FISA law...which would have given 4 DAYS...72 hours to just get a judge to say, after-the-fact, the tap was ok...and surely if there was other evidence that proved there was a plot to kill people, no judge in their right mind would deny a request. It's just playing on fear.

Now isn't it amazing without the illegal snooping into American lives Bill Clinton was able to smash several plots...anyone remember the "Millenium plot" where Al Queda was going to make New Years one to remember? Or blowing up the pope's plane? Or sneaking in across the Washington border from Canada? Oh well...guess those didn't count.

I enjoy Mahrer when he gets a bug up his ass and I agree with him. He can rant with the best of 'em. But he's woefully ignorant on a lot of what goes on outside his little Hollywood world and his own world of self-absorbed self-indulgence.

37. He's not very consistent in his beliefs
so according to Maher, it's too intrusive for the government to tell him he can't smoke pot but spying on him without a warrant or any form of oversight isn't too intrusive? How does that make any sense? Plus we have a guy who lost his job because of the hysteria surrounding this insane war on terrorism and HE of all people can't see how crazy this all is?

:wtf:

He said the same thing about profiling dark-skinned people at airports. Never occurred to him that we have as much to fear from white supremacist paramilitarys who would stir up the shit, then blame it on the darkies.

Maher is a easily manipulated by fear, as any Republican.
