Bring the Noise! Drown Out Bush’s Lies!

In large cities and small towns all across the country, join in rallies one hour before Bush’s address as we make our determination to “Drive Out the Bush Regime” the political message of the day.
At 9:00 PM EST, just as Bush starts to speak, everywhere we will BRING THE NOISE. In a cacophony of sound, we will drown out his address with music: from drums to violins, from hip hop and classical; and with noise: banging pots and ringing church bells, sound car horns and lifting our voices.
(all rallies begin at 8pm EST unless otherwise noted)

Left hand side – scroll down to your state or city (or country)
then click announcements (under Genre)
look for J31 announcements. Most cities are still in the planning stage – add your name and help organize.

J31 State of Emergency Solidarity Call
author: Portland Can't Wait
Instead of listening to Bush's talking points on January 31st, join your neighbors in Bringing the Noise! Drown Out Bush's LIES! Bang pots and pans, play music, drums, chant and sing, whatever it takes to Draw your Neighbors from in front of their TVs out into the Community!
This is a call for anyone who wants to help make this happen to join in the effort to Drown Out Bush's Lies on January 31st. Organize your neighborhood. Help us organize the effort. We need your help to make this happen. Together, we can make a display of our solidarity without the need of the Pomp and Circumstance of a Permitted March down Broadway AVE, without the need of paying for a billion cops to get overtime, and without the need of anyone telling you how you should express yourself.
At 5pm, Americans will meet up in their neighborhoods. They will hold open mic events, impromptu concerts, speeches, skits, and meetings, all designed to bring the community together.

At 6pm, Bush will start squawking about terrarists and Iraq and will beat the dead horse of how much better off we all are having nabbed Saddam Hussein. But since we've all heard that song and dance, we'll be in our communitites Bringing the Noise to DROWN OUT BUSH'S LIES!

Some ideas include "Here Lies the Bush Regime" with R.I.P. tombstones with clever epithets; holding a "State of the Community" event to showcase your neighborhood. Holding house parties where you hold showings of movies like Outfoxed. Be creative!

15. Well, hell, there's nothing
in Rapid City, SD, where I am right now. Any RC-area DUers want to plan something? I know there's a surprisingly vocal peace and anti-war group here, but I don't know how to contact them. I say we plan something for Rapid City!
