A lot was made over Samuel Alito's wife breaking down in tears yesterday and the reaction by the Freepers was not unexpected. The following day after his wife's anguish, how do you think Alito expressed his sympathy for her at the end of the hearing-which obviously was a grueling ordeal for her?

I'd figure he would wrap his arms around his wife and give her a reassuring hug to tell her that this was all behind them now. Maybe a kiss on the cheek and then they would file out together amidst the crowd and the cameras. How about even a knowing glance? Nope, Strip-search Sammy turned hurriedly away from his wife without acknowledging her presence and bolted for the door as fast as he could leaving her behind in his wake. Was it a possible indication that she was in her proper place after all?

1. I was wondering why she was always hanging onto him

and pawing him every chance she got. She's afraid he'll run away again. It was excessive and inappropriate at times. I bet she's a real pain in the ass at home.

6. It's All A Distraction...

The more people pay attention to Miss Martha, the less people pay attention to what her hubby was saying. While she was playing to the cameras and becoming more and more of a sideshow, hubby showed more and more that he is the bigot and mysognist his writings, applications and rulings show he is. When it started to get hot on hubby, then they cued wifey to turn on the tears...the table had been set and it was just a matter of "when" as to the timing of this distraction.

Even DU bit. There was a string almost as big as the hearing thread watching Mrs. ScAlito. I admit my guilt...I found her "wardrobe" and mannerisms to be a bit quirky to say the least. At least she could have left the draperies at home. Right on cue, Coach Graham said the "magic word" and Tiny Tears did her thing.

Now, I'd be curious if anyone could check and see if Mrs. ScAlito was packing a Blueberry or other PDA or text device. It'd be interesting to see if she was checking messages while things were going on. Someone noted that looking at the video right before the crying jag, Mrs. ScAlito was looking off camera (away from hubby) at someone and her face went from placid to raging river in no time.

Mrs. Martha is probably like many of the other Stepford Repugnican woman. Grown in a bubble of fear of the world and themselves...subservient to all things male and the perfect little enablers.
