Great "Language of Treason" article over on DailyKos
After reading it I think there is some very strong framing for us to take advantage of in the debate over Iraq, Afghanistan, and any other quagmire he's thinking of starting. I dream of the day when John Murtha (or Howard Dean) speaks these words to the cameras.

The last paragraph is my new battle cry and sure to shut up any yapping repug about dissenting with dear leader.(emphasis mine)

<snip>
Welcome to Bush's America, where war heroes are forced to defend themselves against betraying the very flag they bled for. Where those who cry out to save this nation are cast as disobedient radicals unworthy of attention. Where there is no more debating the Presidency.

No, all must remain silent. All that is allowed in this kingdom now is a monologue, streaming out from the White House, a one-way flow of putrid propaganda and deception.

It is that tactic employed by this Presidency which comforts our enemies. Soulless terrorists listen to Bush implying American citizens are traitors and they laugh. They laugh because this is the America they want to see. The President turning on his people, and our ideals of dissent and democracy renounced by our own leaders.

4. No thanks necessary (but you're welcome)
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 07:45 AM by BrainRants
I've always tried not to wear my service on my sleeve because I served during a time of relative peace in this country. However, with all the chickenhawk yipping about supporting the troops I've found it very beneficial in gaining the high ground in every discussion I've ever had regarding the war.

My gratitude is to all that served before me to provide the peace I was fortunate to serve under.

They are the real heroes to me and I never miss an opportunity to thank them.

(edit: grammar)

5. I use my service connected disabled veterans card
It seems to work equally as well. Let them try to shut me up! I talk smack on the VA shuttle & all the vets on board agree with me, rarely does anyone anywhere disagree.
