(Trying this again without the inflamatory title. If the mods still think it is too over top. Feel free to pull it. But, I think it is important to say.)

Don't let them get away with it.

I called for a filibuster on Torture Boy Gonzalez, Imelda Rice and Robo-Robertson. Each time, most here said I was wrong to do so. A lot of folks parroted the Repug talking point about the "presedent desering the cabinet of his choice". I can't even remember how many people told me we have to "save the filibuster for the SCOTUS nominee". They gave the first SCOTUS nominee, Roberts a pass (with general support from most DUers I spoke to).

Folks then told me we had to save the filibuster for a really extreme right nominee. Well, here he is and it looks like they are getting ready to give out another pass.

If they are unwilling to filibuster this "extreme case" then I REALLY have to wonder what is going on here. It simply does not even make sense to me. If they refuse to filibuster, there is no opposition party, there is only a kennel full of the chimp's lapdogs and they should be ashamed of themselves.

There is simply no excuse at all.

Anyone that argued to me before now that we should save the filibuster should all feel used now. You got worked over by your own party. Played by the Bush appeasers in our ranks. I for one am pissed as I was calling for a filibuster all along. Maybe a bit of pressure to filibuster some earlier nominees would have made it impossible for them to blow off the will of the people this time.

The Democratic party seems pathologically unable to fight the repugs. Time to bring in some new blood if you ask me!

When I called my Sen's office and told them my opposition to Alito I told them to shut it down, make them (the administration) stop. I asked what would happen if I decided I didn't want to follow the tax law. I asked them what laws I can ignore. I told them to shut the government down until there were actual valid investigations into the administration and give them nothing in the meanwhile.
