This is what I have now. Is it strong enough? I know it should be short, but I wanted to put the quote in.

*******
It was missed or ignored by many, but Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) summed up the importance of Judge Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court. While speaking on Alito's behalf, Sen. Graham said "And I hope you'll understand if any us come before a court and we can't remember Abramoff, you will tend to believe us."

This nomination is not being pushed by the Republican side of the aisle because Judge Alito is a conservative and will overturn Roe v. Wade. This nomination is a last ditch effort to cover themselves as the Abramoff investigation heats up.

In any other courtroom, Sen. Graham's comments would be construed as "court tampering" or an "attempt to influence a court official". Unfortunately, it seems to be the standard modus operandi of many current Senators and Representatives. As an added bonus, the Republican side gains support from the Supreme Court for Unitary Executive power, ultimately placing the President above the law. It removes separation of powers - a fundamental belief to reinforce and keep in place if America is to be recognizable in 3 more years.

Judge Alito is a danger to our Constitution, he is a danger to our Bill of Rights, he is a danger to America and he should not be confirmed.

*******

Edited to add that I borrowed the "court tampering and attempt to influence a court official" wording from another DUer. I can't find the post now, or I'd ask if that was OK.

1. Suggestion: stick to one point.
Either focus on the Abramoff comment or focus on the unitary executive. If you go after unitary excecutive you need to clearly explain what this is.
