No more gun camera films. No more post-mortem pics. Please. |
|
I'm only 416 short months from my DEROS in Viet Nam, and that shit is still way to vivid. I saw way too many bad pics in person back then. These are booster pictures, pure and simple. Rooter pics for the sick war supporters. Chicken-hawk war rooters. Slackers. Coultergeists.

1. I agree. These are just ghoulish and there is no excuse for showing them |
|
except for the reasons that you name.:grr:
They did the same thing with Uday and Qusay and that was bad enough. And the thing is that they give you no warning! It used to be that they would tell you ahead of time, if they were showing something graphic, to give you a chance to leave the room, if you wanted to. But not with these. What if your four-year-old is in the room? Is this also okay for children?! They are on 24/7 and everybody's showing them. They had al-Zarqawi's death photo in the corner of the screen during Tony Snow's entire press conference! And they fined CBS for "nipplegate!":eyes:

2. Dead bodies are ok for children to see, but we can't let them |
|

I cannot believe the hypocrisy of these assholes.
I agree that these photos do not need to be published.

4. It's not just that they're published, but they're all over the airwaves, |
|
whether we like it or not, no matter who's watching! We just can't escape them! It's as if they're proud of having produced a mangled corpse, so want to make sure everyone sees it, to make the point that they accomplished this great thing!
Someone on another thread called this "a culture of death." I said that I agreed.;(

|
my dog parades around when I give him a bone.
Despicable people. I really do not understand that mentality.

Your analogy is very apt (as I sit here with two dogs).:-)
They just seem to revel in this death, both the administration (Tony Snow variously said that Bush* was "delighted" at the news, then amended it to "pleased...") and the MSM, who can't show enough pix of him, in death. CNN is still doing so, as I write this. I don't get it, either, and these are not photos that I needed to see.:puke:

5. It is insane. It is total propaganda. |
|
I cannot believe we are seeing this obscene spectacle! Just report the death of a heinous killer. Period. Like Hitler's death. Like Pol Pot's (real name: Salouth Sar) death. Then we can decide what we need to decide. Period.

9. You'll put the history and discovery channels out of business |
|
They'll need this footage to show endlessly after we finally get out to show how superior the american military is.
