spies. That might be an interesting experiment. Do what you suggest, but only expressing your views on issues, without attacking anyone.
Then do the same thing, as a Republican.
Personally, I've adapted the attitude of anyone who ever lived in a totalitarian society. I just assume that unless you're an avid Bush supporter, the chances are you are on his paranoid, political enemies list.
Frankly what would surprise me under the current regime, would be if that was not the case.
Bush claims he's trying to catch terrorists. The Spy Scandal has revealed, so far, that about 80,000 US citizens have been spied on.
Apparently the same number are on the 'no fly' list. So far, everyone who has reported being on that list has no terrorist connections whatsoever, but is a Democrat, a war protester, a Green Party member, a Democratic Senator, an author who wrote a not very flattering book about Bush, a musician who is aMuslim ~
If this list was not just a political enemies list, surely at least one rightwinger, ie, a pro-abortion, anti-gay type would have been flagged. Most terrorists surely don't hold liberal views?
For example, Chalabi, accused by this government of spying for Iran is not on any restricted no fly list!! Despite the fact that the FBI would like to talk to him!!
I read that if you find out you are on the no fly list, you cannot sue. However, that should only apply if the truth is being told about it (not that I agree with that, either) But, I wonder if a class action suit is possible based on the charge that this is not a list to target terrorists, that the evidence emerging indicates that it is a political enemies list.
The author of Bush's Brain was the latest individual to find himself on that list. More and more this is looking like an abuse of the privileges Bush claims.
So, I'm wondering if rather than an individual lawsuit, since they've made that impossible, what about a lawsuit based on a challenge to the claim being made that it is a terror tool when all the evidence proves otherwise? Let them prove it in court. Let them explain how Ted Kennedy ended up on the list. This is total BS in a supposed democracy.
