When Cheney resigns, they'll finger Condi as his replacement. Mark my words...

8. I think Chaingangy WILL resign before 2008 too... |
|
I've been saying this since the 2004 debacle. I'd thought the "spot" as "near-incumbent" would go to Bill Frist, but thanks to his SEC problems ... he is now a bit too tarnished even by the snakepit standards and Condi is probably going to be the one they bump-up.
I'd have to say, though I find her repulsive, some of my Democratic friends seem to like her. They've not been able to give me any cohesive reasoning for "why?"
If she were to be the repug annointed one, who would best knock her out of the box? I think not Hillary. Maybe a ticket of JRE-Obama? Or Gore-JRE? Lots of options. Condi can't give a speech at all, she'd be a lost in debates. And of course, JRE is debater supreme!

with some wheezy chuckle and firm denial it'll ever happen.
Reminds me of Dubya mocking Gonzales to his face about being appointed to the Supreme Court.

many of my black female friends, good Democrats all, will vote for her JUST because she is a black female. I'm working on persuading them that Condi isn't ANY race or gender ... purely a manufactured robot off the assembly line. And THAT is why the repug base lets her in.

"The first lady said the hearings should not include personal attacks.
"I do think it's really important in the United States for people like Judge Alito to be treated with respect," she said. "I think it's very important for the Senate to have a very civil and respectful hearing for anyone that has been nominated for the Supreme Court or for the other jobs that require Senate confirmation.""
They expect the Dems have to be nice to them, but they don't have to be nice to our nominees? I am really getting tired of the reality challenged murdering, lying hypocritical extremists war criminals that have taken over my country. What's not to understand? Why don't more people in this country understand what is really going on?

19. Like saying "presumed innocent and therefore ok for the bench" |
|
In Alito's case the only thing one could presume is that he is "dirty" and deserves to be questioned closely. But, typical of Laura ... who seems to be truly brain dead, a CAT scan would likely only find green goo up there.
Who else here thinks that boooshie's head injury from "choking on a pretzel" was really caused by lethal-Laura clobbering him with an ashtray?

17. Coming from CNN, coming from Laura Bush, I'd say it's goddamn |
|
sick. And how about this sick sick sick statement?
Pickles said she offered support to Alito's wife, Martha-Ann Bomgardner, who left Wednesday's hearing in tears during comments by Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-South Carolina, regarding questions from
Pickles went Liberia to see the first woman sworn in as president. Johnson-Sirleaf will replace the country's two-year transitional administration, which came to power after Liberia's civil war ended in 2003.
The fighting claimed about 250,000 lives.
Liberia, which was founded by former American slaves more than 180 years ago, descended into chaos in 1989 under President Charles Taylor, who was ousted from power by a coup 10 years later.
Taylor, who was later convicted of human rights violations, is in exile in Nigeria. Taylor was Pat Robertson's diamond buddy.
Please read the whole article if you can stand CNN.

18. Laura should be jealous of Condi. |
|
Condi Rice is always dressed so much better than Laura Bush, and in clothes that actually fit her. Besides her $500 shoes, aren't her power suits from some very gold plated fashion designer houses?
That aside, I would rather not have a President who is following in the footsteps of former first ladies, Imelda Marcos and Eva Peron.

I just don't see how that qualifies her to run for anything. She DOES have good taste in clothing ... but have you noticed she seems to have a penchant for outfits with a militaristic look? That much published photo of her in the high black leather boots and the narrow silhoutte coat ... hmmmmmmm ... had just the right NAZI touch for the rightwingnuts ... but coming from a black woman? BIZARRO!

been afraid if Bush were impeached that we would get Dickie in the office of President. I would rather have Bush. BUT if COndi were the VP, I could go along with giving Bush the ax. Then the question would be: whos will she pick as VP?
