As a frequent business flyer I found this article both ballsy and intriguing. Hummmmm, could I really get past the security checkpoint faster without ID ? Apparently, the "stated" rules and the "actual" rules are different... surprise, surprise. Not sure I plan to try but apparently Jim Harper, a member of the Department of Homeland Security's privacy advisory committee, did based on a challenge from John Gilmore co-founder of the EFF.
From the article
The Great No-ID Airport ChallengeWhile signs in the airport and on the Transportation Security Administration website insist that showing ID is mandatory, the official policy, as revealed by the judges' decision (.pdf) in Gilmore's case, is that "airline passengers either present identification or be subjected to a more extensive search." But Gilmore said that's not what really happens in an airport when one refuses to provide identification.
Enjoy the irony and salute the hack*. Thanks John :yourock:

*hack = as in hacker...ie: people who find creative new ways to solve problems.
