4. Maher hosted Larry King Live last night.....
He had David Dreier, George Mitchell and David Gerghan (sp?) as his guests. The opening topic was Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Thanks...

3. Bill Maher
Yea that was pretty funny, but what he said later wasn't IMHO. He said, and I'm phrasing here. "He didn't think that Bu$h spying on americans without a warrant was a big deal"

I like Bill Maher, but that's what I call an uniformed statement.

6. Agree...
...sometimes he makes matters worse. But....I like the way he is determined to get different viewpoints on the table. I might not agree with them, but I like the openness of his discussions. And....more often than not...he is VERY funny.

7. Maher Is Full Of Shit. Remember Him Admonishing Everyone
after the first Iraq elections about how this whole neocon thing may just work afterall and dogging anyone on his show who refused to agree as dishonest? Bill is no friend of mine. Not at all.

9. It's all about OPEN DISCUSSION...
Sometimes he hits it right on...sometimes he doesn't. I enjoy hearing different opinions and viewpoints. Remember GWB wants to take that away from us. DEBATE IS HEALTHY and in order to have a debate you have to have MORE THAN one opinion. When Maher says things like that he gets the discussion going.

One viewpoint ONLY = Bush's world

10. Problem Is That He IS NOT OPEN To Debate.
Anyone that refused to agree that the Neocons may have something here was openly ridiculed as dishonest. That is not open debate. People CAN disagree. But, when one starts down that "agree with me or you are dishonest" road openness ends and dogma takes over. That is his problem.

12. Spying without a warrant.....
is not a big deal as long as the president follows the law and goes to the FISA court and gets one after the fact (as the law permits). If a president does not need any warrant, either before or after the fact, then what is the use of having a warrant system and checks and balances in our government. Does Maher trust Bush that he is only spying on the bad guys and not his political enemies?

8. Maher is right - Al-Zawarhiri to many appears the real leader
with Bin Laden as the banker and figurehead.

11. Yes. That was well said. The show got a little weird at the end. Don't
think mentally ill teachers are a thing to laugh about.

13. He's right. al-Zawahiri is Osama's Rove.
Two rich guys with rich daddies who find some smart street brawler to guide their otherwise inconsequential lives to the top of their respective clans.
