Why are Dems and others afraid to say bush lied? |
|
Listen the next time when someone interviews someone on a talk show. When they ask a the question did bush lie, and this can be on any subject the person being interview everytime starts to beat around the bush. The person starts searching their thoughts and usually say,no he mislead us or he wasn't completely truthful, they say anything but lie. Whats wrong are they afraid or something?
The repugs have no problem saying lie and aren't afraid to say it, when discussing a Dem or anybody else. They will be in and interview and make a point of saying lie or liar, one, two, three or four times to dig it in. They really enjoy saying Clinton is a liar.

1. Because they are misreading the non-RW American public. |
|
The conversations all around my neighborhood (and I live in an upscale neighborhood in MD suburbs) are so anti-Bush it is unbelievable. They know he and most of his administration are corrupt liars and they all, to a person that I come in contact with, hate the Iraq invasion. I do believe there are more of us out here than "them." I only hope the WE can send a resounding message to the cabal now controlling our government come next election.

I think it has something to do with the DLC, and their obsession with turning the DP into a center-right clone of the GOP. Also, Democrats who can get media coverage are certain to be bashed quite mercilessly by the right-wing echo machine (aka the MSM) if they disagree, however factually (reality-based?) and politely, with the GOP--and who wants to put up with being villified by unprincipled ideologues every time one expresses a contrary opinion? I do agree it is quite deplorable that progressives don't take a more resolute stand against this kind of media behavior; and rather doubt the fortunes of the Party will improve until they do.

7. They are gettin their asses kicked anyway so whats the difference? |
|
They need to speak up like Feingold, Dean and Murtha,if we had more like them they wouldn't get away with so much. They need to stop backing down, and quit sending out weak spokespersons to represent dems.

And welcome. Democratic 'Losership' Council still has strangle hold on the party unfortunately. Until we get the DLC out of the party, we will continually be frustrated by the misleadership of our leaders.

15. Everytime I look at msnbc and a issue comes up ... |
|
there is this Strum guy speaking for the Dems and Buchanan speaking for the repugs, he kicks his ass everytime. By the way, I thought that Buchanan was suppose to be in some other party and contributed to voters punching the wrong holes in the ballots in 2000.

4. I don't know. Howard Dean doesn't have that problem! |
|
He's about the only leading Dem I know who says it like it is, and look at even the Dems that complain about Howard putting his foot in his mouth all the time!
I can only assume the Dems haven't learned to be ruthless like the Pubs have.
I'm still hoping Howard will hold a few seminars to teach the elected Dems, along with those who HOPE to get elected, how to speak the plain truth!!!!

the Times and the Post, and seem to be unaware that there are real people and real information out there. They don't listen to AAR or check out blogs or even know what Salon.com is. Well, some of 'em do, but not the ones getting the attention. </rant>

the corporations have made it clear what happens to those who criticize the king or the rest of the corporate aristocracy (Wellstone, the CBS News people, etc.)
it's their job to keep repukes in power and to worship the king.

12. Like John Kerry in the 2004 Election? |
|
The Democratic Party cannot seem to understand that the majority of voters will consider the Democrats part of the corrupt racket, unless the Democrats start calling a spade a spade.
No wonder the Republicans are constantly projecting their own guilt onto the Democrats all the time, and get away with it. The Democrats bring a knife to a gunfight, with both hands tied behind their backs, and then they wonder why people think they are full of holes.
Democratic candidates, do your research on the Republicans and unload on them with the truth. If you cannot fight for your own dignity, how in the Hell can you fight for the people you want to represent?

Use of the term 'lie' implies knowingly stating a falsehood. The Nitwitted Narcissist can't be shown to "know" anything.
Suggestion: Say "The (Bush/Cheney) Administration LIED" since it CAN be proved they "knew" differently ... at least institutionally they had the correct information.
