The blind supporters of BushCheneyCorp will amp up their retarded rhetoric on patriotism, and the resulting military draft is going to cause the rift that already exists between the 2 Americas to widen. One can't blame Israel for defending themselves. Iran has made it clear they would like Israel to disappear. Iran is also a much bigger threat to world security than most nations. They hate the West, and they have a real military. Not to mention that they probably already have nuclear weapons, regardless of any oversight up until now. BushCheneyCorp, however, just wants to 'play army', and blow the shit out of something, so they can get into the history books, and act like they're 'real men'. They will jump at any chance to do so.

Then BushCheneyCorp gets to run in and 'help' it's ally, Israel. In this scenario, BushCheneyCorp gets it's war without actually 'starting it'.

Iran will not attack first. They have no need to. They are sitting on a large pile of oil and gas that the rest of the world needs desperately, including Israel. They are about to take out the US dollar with their new Euro-based oil bourse. (That by the way is the real threat.)

I know your scenario is one that the NeoCons salivate over (America to the rescue.) What I object to is the notion that Israel needs to defend itself. It has not been attacked. Any attack by Israel at this point is offensive, not defensive.

And yes, I believe that the President of Iran is a fundie nutjob, not unlike our own President. But he has no power. The clerics do. I also suspect that he was "installed" by intel "fixers" precisely so this scenario could evolve.
