Bush chops down fig tree, expects cherry tree to grow back
That's my analogy for his naive belief that he can overthrow a fractured feudal totalitarian Middle Eastern state and magically transform it into a Western-style democracy.

Any other colorful ways you guys can think of to describe this disastrous invasion?

2. It has nothing to do with democracy. The invasion was done to make
Bush** look a wartime "leader" for the election. It worked. He was elected with insurance provided by the voting machines.

But now, people in the US are seeing that the "leader" has no clothes.
