Ok this is a laughable one |
|
I have a neighbor who is a Republican that is going to a Union meeting. We all know that if the Republicans could destroy the Unions they would. I basically called my neighbor a dumb ass.

it puts money in their pockets, helps keep their job secure, fine.
Does he support the union with more than his dues? Does he vote for candidates that support unions? If not, then he has no business belonging.
edit: Just in case anyone here thought I truly believe that unions are commie pinko outfits I thought I'd better tell you I was being sarcastic.

5. He's one of those idiot Republicans |
|
He wants to keep his Union of course because of his benefits his vacation time and his raises. I keep telling him that you can't vote Republican and support your labor union. How many more idiots like him are out there?

My sister and my best friend. They both seem to resent the dues that are taken out of their checks and don't see the benefits of membership. With my sister I have had to on occasion validate her point because her steward really screwed her. But I don't see voting GOP as the way to fix it. While I would like to give her more credit than that I believe it was all the imaginary tax deferment.

I didn't mean to call you a idiot from my last post. I glad you got it I am hoping I get through to this guy. Its just doesn't make sense that these people are not helping the labor force by voting Repub.

..my son recently got into a union (so lucky..hard to get in).. he's an Apprentice..making really good money for his age..pension, benefits...he knows how lucky he is (we're canadian)..anyway..our election is around the corner...he hears A LOT about politics from me..so I was wondering if he learned that you DON'T vote conservative ESPECIALLY if you are a union member! ...and I was so impressed..I asked him how he planned to vote, and he responded...WHAT! Liberal mom of course, I belong to a Union. (NDP would be good too, but that will split the vote in our riding and we are doing all we can to maintain a liberal government - even though I think it's hopeless at this point).
edit: typo

4. My brother-in-law has a great union job, yet he falls for every... |

right wing meme like a ton of bricks. He also complains about the union dues. Yet he loves the benefits that the union protects for him. I have tried to point out to him that all that would disappear without the union but I got to say he and his union brothers are by and large a bunch of dopes because they just can't grasp that fact.

I go up north in the summer months I see these people that live on welfare and food stamps and have Bush stickers on there cars. I just don't get it. Maybe the Dem's should do a better job in campaigning this year on getting through to these people. The Repukes are going to do nothing for them but cut their benefits.
