Why do they control all 3 branches of government?
Because they have worked the system to get elected. They specifically set out to form an impervious electoral majority by winning over the south and the key red states you see now....on issues that are really non-issues
Why can't the Dems work the system effectively, too?? How do we win over the South and the other red states, or at least enough of them? If people vote on certain issues, then they are not "non-issues", no matter how much we think they are irrelevant to life. We need some way to address them.
What about electoral fraud?? If we know it's going to happen, why can't we stop it beforehand? Shine some light on the problem, and the cockroaches have to scatter. Why can't we do that? Yes, I know the MSM is corporate controlled, but the right uses the Internet and talk radio to great effect. Maybe if we used sound bites like the RW instead of long-winded, logical arguments, that would be effective. I don't know. But if we can put the issue and position simply, somehow? Something that the sheeple have the time to read and the synaptic power to understand??
For example, A lot of the criticism of President Bush that I read, here and elsewhere seems to want to list every crime that he has committed in one long condemnation. Wouldn't it be better to eliminate the redundant verbiage, select one crime to concentrate on. Then follow that up with evidence. The first is just name-calling, no matter how true it may be; the second may make a dent in the political discourse. I don't know, but whatever we're doing now seems rather ineffective to me.
Also, some arguments may not go over too well with certain parts of the electorate. For instance, in the South, I don't think attacks on the Iraq war play as well as they would in Boston, or San Francisco. The South has also been the most martial region of the country. Wouldn't it be better to concentrate on economic issues there? I'm not saying leave voices on the issue completely silent, but where should the emphasis go? On issues where we can make gains, or issues that will alienate the voters that we need? Would you rather be vocally an d publicly right, or would you rather have a Democratic President and Congress? Sometimes practicality must supersede ideological purity, IMO.
Whoops, I ranted longer than I meant to. I'd like answers to my questions though, if anyone has any ideas.
