Ayn Rand's "real man" William Edward Hickman.
Today I went on a Crime Bus tour in Los Angeles sponsored by the 1947 Project. The main focus of the tour concerned the Elizabeth Smart aka "Black Dahlia" case. We saw places she lived and worked, drove past houses belonging to various suspects, discussed theories on who may have done it, etc., eventually ending up at the spot where her body was found. In between we heard more stories and saw where other dasterly deeds took place. Another grizzly case brought up was perpetrated by an odious character known as William Edward Hickman, I had heard of this monster when I first moved out here and tried to forget about him soon after. What I didn't know but found out today is that Ayn Rand thought this guy was the shit!

:wtf:

Can you believe that? I always knew she was repugnant but this just takes the cake. :puke:

6. Do you mean Elizabeth Short? Is Rand all that bad really?
I think you mean Short, not Smart. Elizabeth Smart was not killed but re-appeared under * very * strange circumstances.

I'm not sure what to believe about Ayn Rand. So much dis-information has been written about her by both sides. In substance, there is nothing wrong with what she believed - I think she was even right in many ways. Also very controversial. Lie many "isms", hers was better on paper than in real life.

7. Yep. My bad.

I'm sure Rand thought the perp in the 'Black Dahlia' case was the perfect man as well.

9. It figures.
One only need read any of Rand's work to see what a poor judge of character she might be in real life. Her writing style is so clunky and awkward, I've only been able to complete The Fountainhead, and that was grueling in and of itself.
