I wore my Kerry button to church during the campaign, and discovered I go to church with a buncha Democrats. I had assumed otherwise, living smack dab in the middle of Sensenbrenner in a fairly affluent suburb area and all. So I was alittle apprehensive. But I'd promised myself I wasn't going to keep taking the button off and putting it back on when I thought I was going to get some flak somewhere.
To my surprise and delight, the ratio of "good man" to "I don't know about that guy" was about 10 to 1. I appreciated finding that out.
So yeah, there is more than that kind of Christian. And I, for one, will not let the other side own God. I disagree with Bill Mahler on that one. I will not concede the point to them. I'm sick of being made to feel like a second-hand Christian because I'm not a Republican and don't follow people such as Pat Robertson or James Dobson.
