Don't talk about abortion, or gays, or any other wedge issue with them unless you like the feeling of driving a spike in your own head. It's useless. Sociopaths will say and do anything to impose their will on others.

arguing with...they'll get tired of it and give up.

You could just as easily repeat "The Giants win the pennant!" over and over until they just stared at you like you were crazy and walked away.

If you're looking for a sure-fire argument winner, however, "You will say and do anything to impose your will on others" isn't the one. It's just another charge they can deny.
