They silenced Martin Luther King forever, but I still hear his voice
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 07:03 AM by mopaul
I still hear you Martin, to this day, I can hear your voice pleading, praying, hoping, I will never forget.

"Free at last". "FREE AT LAST"! "Thank God Almighty I'm free at last"

Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

1. No one has ever been able to be as moving as MLK when...
speaking. The above words spoken by him are the finest I have ever heard. They still bring tears to my eyes.

2. The best tribute we can pay to Martin Luther King is to...
TO THROW DIEBOLD AND ES&S ELECTION THEFT MACHINES INTO 'BOSTON HARBOR' *NOW*!

He understood that our right to vote is the key to everything. SCLC, 1965, voter rights campaign. Within 10 years, we had black sheriffs and black mayors throughtout the South, almost inconceivable to most of us in 1965, but it happened. He knew. Now we have to do that again. We have to RESTORE our right vote, which has been stolen from us--from the great progressive majority in this country--just as surely as the poll tax did. Now it's whites and blacks who have been disenfranchised. And whites and blacks together MUST get it back, NOW!
