N.P.R. "Alito Dutifully Answered All of the Democrats Questions."
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 08:31 AM by Botany
Does Rove have the media wired or what? Did I miss something?

I am not a lawyer. I am a landscaper w/ a B.S. in Plant Biology but it seemed to me he
didn't answers many questions, that his memory had some very convenient gaps, and that
his wife's tears were just a designed distraction.

Liberal Media my ass. :puke:

2. I gave up listening to N.P.R. when "Turd Blossom" was on with Terri Gross.
Exactly like I gave up A.A.R. when Tucker "C" Carlson was on with Rachel M. and
Sam S. was requiring people to send letters to politicians to listen to his show...
(We found out how effective a letter and petition campaign was at saving "Morning
Sedition"... Thanks Sam, but, no thanks.)

5. So I assume you now sit in silence?
Ideological purity is noble and makes one feel good inside, but it often leaves one somewhat unentertained, does it not?

8. No... I've found other outlets.
Take D.U. for example.

7. So what?
Rachel is a regular on Tucker's show so should people who disagree w/ her
never watch tucker? My O.P. went to the point of deliberate manipulation
of the facts by what used to be a very good news group.

10. It's an insidious process...
If I wanted to see Carlson I'd still watch that craptastic MSNBC.

Rachel is on Carlson's show as a pinata. To provide the illusion
there's some controversy and that the arguments and support for
both sides is equal... When it plainly isn't.

It's a disservice.

They were too eager to have her on the show.

23. am with you
gave up a long time ago on NPR
am in the process of giving up on AAR (except for Mike Malloy - who is available elsewhere) and Randi Rhodes. Rachel M. is a waste of time, IMO. She was defending Alito's wife the day after her 'big cry'. I figured either her ability to use her eyes and brain were impaired or her politics were f'd..... either way she is a loser.

9. NPR=Nothing but Propaganda for Republicans
I cancelled my KCRW membership over the right wing bias in NPR. I kept getting harassed by the cash junkies that beg for contributions. I finally went off on one of them when they said that NPR was "so liberal under Clinton that it had to move to the center"...what bull

11. N.P.R. used to be the Jack Web of news. "Just the facts, Sir."
I had a good friend who was an on air reporter and news caster for NPR .... now he has moved on ....
and in the 80s & 90s ...... the way to move up was to be first with a good story with solid facts and
it did not matter which side the story hurt.

"Where have you gone Bob Edwards,
a nation turns it's lonely eyes to you."

14. Pretty much...
I've been impressed. But, he's doing more of the background pieces now.

Music... Sports... Things like that, which he stated when he first moved
(or was forced to move) to XM he enjoys reporting on most.

Right after the 2004 election he was the first and only voice out there
trying to resolve the outcome. I'll always be grateful for that.

20. I used to send NPR $25 a month. Since they canned Bob Edwards
I haven't sent them one cent. On the phone, when they ask, I tell them why, and there's no response. Obviously they hear this a lot. Bob was the best they had, imo.

Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 09:09 AM by robbedvoter
It's the talking poilnt all over the corporate media: "Done Deal". From NPR to Ruslut, to Nagourney in NYT - all toadies are croaking in unison today: "Fait accompli"
This is not news reporting - it's mass hypnosis.

It was also used during the recount in 2000 after Faux put W ahead of Gore - "how much more time are we going to waste on this?"

I'd rather get real news -- not propaganda.

22. Still listen to Public Radio
of course Minnesota Public Radio is so much more than NPR itself. I get similar feelings listening to ME and ATC, but the local shows and the many MPR/American Public Media (MPR owns APM) shows are much better and varied in taste and style.

24. too bad the dems didn't ask tough questions, eh?
why is it ok to murder a kid by shooting him in the back of the head when he was climbing a fence?

why did you join and stay a member of a racist campus organization?

why do you think the any president of the US can wiretap citizens illegally?

are you g w bush's get out of jail free card?

what secret deals have you cut with bushco in return for your nomination?

every question to him based on his past should have been prefaced with "why do you..."

gee if I can think of questions the senate dems shoulda been able to do the same. it is
their sworn duty, besides accepting lobbyist's gold.
