This from Joe Conason. I don't know whether he coined the phrase or not but I think every Democrat's answer to every Republican should include this phrase. It is what they do and it should be noted and repeated as often as humanly possible. GOP tactic is "Fear and Smear". It is every bit as catchy as "Cut and Run".

When they say "tax and spend Dems" say isn't that the nature of most governments and ask them if they prefer "loot and waste."

When they demonize libralism as being akin to socialism ask them if they much prefer fascism.

The democrat was labeled as tax and spend. The republican was labeled as spend and spend. One guy said to the other, the demcrat is looking better every day.
