Rove calls Murtha a coward, Murtha calls Rove a nerd
seems like Rove got the best of that one.

Why are so many Democrats afraid of going negative and personal?

There are so many things he could have said, but he chose to say that Rove was an office geek?

Oy vey.

1. Please suggest "fat-assed, pasty-faced, lying motherfucker" to
Mr. Murtha in case the topic comes up again.

2. Rove isn't a coward, either. Let's see Murtha try and do THIS...
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 05:36 PM by IanDB1

Yeah...

I dare Murtha to sit down in front of Air Force One and try to prevent Bush from taking-off!

(That's a satirical riff. I am not actually encouraging interfering with any plane or its flight crew. That's something Republicans do.)

3. Only in this administration

Can a fat, lazy, draft dodging chickenhawk like Rove call this man a "coward", from Murtha's bio:
he volunteered for Vietnam in 1966-67, receiving the Bronze Star with Combat "V", two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. I'd love to see any of these people call Murtha that to his face.
edit: Italics mine...

4. There's more to Murtha's comments than that
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 05:31 PM by JeffR
I think you're, uh, misunderestimating what he said...

ON EDIT: Here's what Murtha said on MTP:

"He’s in New Hampshire. He’s making a political speech. He’s sitting in his air-conditioned office on his big, fat backside, saying stay the course. That’s not a plan. … We’ve got to change direction. You can’t sit there in the air-conditioned office and tell troops carrying 70 pounds on their backs, inside these armored vessels hit with IEDs every day, seeing their friends blown up, their buddies blown up — and he says stay the course? Easy to say that from Washington, DC."

Seems a little more substantial than just calling Rove a nerd.

5. I dug Murtha today, actually.
Leave it to the rank and file (us) to give the pig-fuck the real "what-fors".

In Murtha's role, he did alright by me. Bless him.

Plus, on Father's Day, Mr. Murtha reminded me alot of my old man - same generation - WWII and all.

Granted, my old man would have let loose with what he really thought.

As he did today at the BBQ...

But, then again, my Dad's no Congressman either, just an old retired Union Man.

7. I love them old Union men. They stood firm for the worker, their families
and this country. They fought for fair wages and benefits for their workers and as a result non-union workers benefited too.

As young workers came up and didn't want to join the unions, we have seen the decline of jobs, the decline of wages and the decline of the stability of families and communities.

Give me a Union man any day!

(BTW, Murtha is no coward! Rove is the coward and just plain greedy and evil too.)

8. How about a chicken hawk who talks the talk, but
never served a day in actual combat or in the armed forces

who pushed the Iraq war on the American people for political gains, and

who, when the chips were down, compromised the identity of another
serving her country, for his own political goals.

And now he has the nerve to throw around the cheap talk about
"cutting and running," and now insulting one of our
combat veterans calling him a coward. What hypocrisy!

9. Why are Democrats always so delicate?
Would it be so bad to call that MF Rove an asshole? Don't you all think it's time Democrats spoke like they meant something?
