1. Some context for your poll question would be good.
Perhaps it's coffee deprivation, but I don't have a clue what this poll is about.

2. I think it's based on the myth
that our culture equals humanity; that it is the pinnacle of human evolution or something. ;)

3. Then that would be a resounding no.
If anything, the American society/culture is on the downside from it's apogee.

7. a flailing cultural experiment among thousands of others ya mean?
It's always fun to point that out.
Btw, I think it's useful to consider "our culture" as being one that isn't constrained or defined by Nationality(not just American).

10. It's about
where we are going with this civilization/global village/etc. What's the endgame? Can we have 6.5+ billion people living in luxury? Will everyone live free? Since we have to fight for our rights everyday, what is freedom?

4. We need to move into space to let the Earth breathe again.
Instead of ripping up the ground and choking the air by using coal and gas, we can move to space-based solar, which will have no emissions, carbon or otherwise. There's more energy in space, too, and we need that energy to take care of all the people on Earth. The bonus associated with that is that developed nations have less children, and some even have negative rates of population growth. We could use a hundred years of that.

Honestly, in a couple hundred years, if we're still around, I hope we move all major industry off the planet, too. The asteroids have plenty of materials. The whole of Earth could be treated essentially like a giant national park. I don't believe we'll ever appreciate how rare and precious the Earth's biosphere is until we experience on a first hand basis how cold and apathetic the rest of the universe truly is.

11. I never was a very good communicator
Just a big picture question. I gave it a shot. Didn't seem to work as well as I thought in my head.

6. I voted for expanding into space...
but probably, if there are super-intelligent races in the galaxy, they already have us under quarrantine watch, making sure we don't spread our murder and destruction beyond our immediate neighborhood (the solar system). :( In the short run, China's one-child-per-couple policy is undoubtedly the best course to pursue for the sake of the planet.

8. It wasn't clear to me what you mean until read the last poll answer.
At first i figured you meant the issue of "mass-society" being more susceptible to propaganda than smaller societies are (ie pre mass media village).

Now it turns out it is about supposed over-population.

I think i'll skip voting on this poll.

9. Supposed overpopulation is part of it
But I'm talking the whole thing, not just one aspect. Communication, energy, travel, population, consumption, production, organizations, governments, corporations, even propaganda outlets.
