Make them turn off FAUX!!! |
|
Here's your chance to strike a blow for BLUE.
A goodly number of our members here are already doing this, but the time has come to do this EVERYWHERE ANY OF US GO.
Make them TURN OFF FAUX!!!
I was going in for a test for my migraines, which since I stopped working in the toxic work environment created by my last boss have decreased 90%. In the waiting room, guess what's on the boob tube: you guessed it. FAUX NEWS.
I go up to the little old lady at the reception desk, and I tell her that it's against my religion to listen to or watch people tell bald faced lies and palm it off as news, and could we change the channel or just shut the damned thing off?
"GLADLY!" sez she. Seems the last suggestion made by a waiting patient gets played, and some tool wanted FAUX, so she was more than happy to change it.
After she does, up walks this guy to complain, and I walk up too, saying "I'm here for headaches, and that channel gives me a headache."
"HUMPH." sez he, and he sits down. Reception lady gives me a BIG smile.
Two for one: nice smile from little old lady, and The History Channel instead of FAUX.
SOOOOO....
MAKE THEM TURN IT OFF. You are the customer in these places, and it's YOUR RIGHT not to watch FAUX propaganda.
MAKE THEM TURN IT OFF, and TELL US when you do! We all need a little cheering up, don't we?

4. But you did the right thing! |
|
Let them know that the reason you walked was FAUX. That is just as valid as a person of color walking from a store that's playing "KKK USA" and flying the Fake Confederate Flag.
You done good.

5. At my gym I ask to replace Faux with ESPN |
|
I figure ESPN belongs on at the gym, and people won't suspect partisan motivation.

A bank of TV'v at treadmills, I was shocked to see F on one of the sets. Usually its MSNBC on. On my way out I made a comment that I didn't like the trade off to Fuax. Gal laughed and said " guess no one does, we tried to tell Tom that". Well yesterday we were back to normal, no faux!!

7. Good for you!! I hate Faux news and whenever I walk in a public.......... |
|
....place with it on I say VERY LOUDLY, "OMG, you've got to be kidding." I get some smiles and a few dirty looks and heaven help the one who gives me a dirty look and then proceeds to tell me how great Faux News is.
I just lay into them with every lie Idiot Boy and his handlers have ever told and then I end it all with a question in regards to Iraq because sure enough the person has said by this time that Saddam was a bad man. So I go on to say, "By the way, what if the leader of some other country decided Bush was a bad man and went about invading the US just to get rid of Bush and control any natural resources we had. What would you do about it?" Some say "I'd fight for my country" to which I say, "then why are you condemning the Iraqi people for doing the same thing you'd be doing?" Others have said, "Oh, I guess I'd have to live with it, I don't believe in killing.", to which I say, "Remind me never to trust you for any reason." Either way, I shut them down but good.
Last but not least if someone says something to the affect of political differences I reply with, To you it might just be politics, to me I'm literally fighting for my country, so try to understand that I love my country enough that I'm doing the work you and I should both be doing." OMG, talk about dirty looks. I don't take any political prisoners so to speak these days because people have had 6 long years to wake up and if they still don't get it then they obviously need a verbal slap up the side of their head.

8. We had it on in the cafeteria once |
|
Only for one day. They were trying to "balance" out the usual which tends to be Headline News on CNN. Besides the fact that Robin Meade is one hell of a lot better looking than any of those Faux pricks they actually tend to just show the news without a lot of opinion.
There were so many complaints that Fox hasn't been on them since.
