Blunt: "I'm pretty sure that figure is absolutely not accurate"
"pretty sure" "absolutely"

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/01/15/blunt-asg/

Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MI) now claims he has enough votes to win the race for House Majority Leader.

This morning on Fox, Blunt was asked about the fact that his political action committees have paid $485,000 to the Alexander Strategy Group, the lobbying firm at the heart of the DeLay-Abramoff corruption scandals. Blunt responded, “I’m pretty sure that…figure is absolutely not accurate.”

Actually, it’s precisely accurate. From a Public Citizen report released Friday:

Ten of Blunt’s biggest contributors have hired ASG as their lobbying firm. Blunt’s committees paid ASG $485,485 since 1999 for fundraising and consulting services. ASG’s clients, meanwhile, have funneled $581,866 into Blunt’s committees.

Blunt spokeswoman Burson Taylor was asked to respond to the report by the Washington Post. She dismissed the findings as “a rehash of old charges,” but apparently did not challenge their accuracy.

1. I'm having a hard time believing he's even going for
the majority leader position, what with all the scandal which is surely going to follow him.
He appears confident, but why? Kind of makes you go 'hmmmm'...

2. Arrogance and assumption of their superiority and entitlement to rule
(or call it to rule or to take advantage).

They have bombarded us with their crimes because they believe they are untouchable. They seem to believe that if they move fast enough in lording over us that it will be too much to fight or litigate.

I think they are right - sometimes our leaders seem exhausted or overwhelmed or duct taped.

3. He was right and you were off $485 so said my far right reasoning.
Only the GOP would measure the scars on John Kerry's body to be sure the hits were deep enough to call him a hero. And we never call lost of two legs and an arm good enough because you have one left. You surely did not try hard enough. So with my far right reasoning you are wrong and this guy is right. I have watched their crazy reasons for 5 years and it is so wild.
