1. But what's not to like with Alito? He seems a RWer's dream nominee? |
|
With him they get what they really. want; Christofascism.

6. Sell-outs (Feinstein, Wash Post, female & African Amer witnesses) |
|
I'm so furious at what's happening the past few days - first those witness at the hearing riled me. I expected a bunch of creepy white males, but to hear any female and African American support for Alito churned my stomach! Does that woman want her daughters to not be able to have abortions??? And what about that guy, supposedly a liberal even (yeah, right) - does he want the country to go back to days of separate schools and water fountains, etc. for people of color??? Clearly Kennedy proved just the day before by reading that letter to Princeton paper that Alito is more than sympathetic to repressions such as those. And Alito did nothing to prove he wasn't fully supportive of that letter when the was in the group - he just gave some verbal denial - what good is that?
And the American Bar Association jerk testifying in favor - that was disgusting! I thought the ABA was supposed to be on our side - what happened to them??? (bribe of some sort?)
Today I almost drove off the road when I heard someone on radio say Washington Post editorial endorsed confirmation (does anyone know if this is true - I can't bring myself to look at their web page) and then I read on this board today that Feinstein basically agrees to disagree but opposes filibuster!
My big fear is all of this will make it sound to swing voters like this guy is basically ok. :(
