Scientists: Earth Seeing Hottest Temp In 2,000 Years - Humans to Blame

WASHINGTON -- According to new research, the Earth is now the hottest it's been in 2,000 years, and researchers said it can be blamed on those of us who call it home.

A National Academy of Sciences report finds that in the Northern Hemisphere, average global surface temperatures climbed about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the 20th century. The experts said they believe the warming seen in the last few decades is unprecedented over the last 1,000 years.

The report was done for the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Science Committee, who hopes it registers with people questioning whether global warming is a major threat.
