Tonight's Boondocks is BRILLIANT
MLK Jr wakes up from coma in Nov 2000.

Went to vote, and was turned away for voting irregularities.

After 9/11, played peacemaker. Said we should turn the other cheek.

Fox News and the White House go on the attack.

Call him unpatriotic, etc.

His house was vandalized, and his books burned.

Tune in.

Cartoon Network.

2. ha ha i already saw it days ago.
www.adultswim.com on friday nights streams the next scheduled boondocks from 11pm to 6am the next morning. no commercials.

the only one i havent seen, that i think has been aired, is the one where grandpa opens up a soul food joint. and theres supposed to be one where riley puts them on reality tv. havent seen that either. i still think the xbox killer episode is the best.

3. "Sometimes it's fun to dream"
I've had a difficult time liking Boondocks on Adult Swim. I've always loved the strip, but the cartoon version took me a while to "get".

Tonight's episode, I 'got". Loud and clear.

5. So how did YOU see it before the rest of us?
Are you working on the series or for Cartoon Network? Did they invite you to a screening or something?

However you did it, thanks. "Aaron McGruder's The Boondocks" has proven to be the best series on television - animated or otherwise - of the past year. On the comic strip pages, it looked worse; Huey Freeman came off as a Panther-type who seemed to conclude every sentence "ki' the white people." But on the animated series, he is smarter, more reflective, and far more likeable.

And although politics and sociology are part of the series, they don't dominate it. It's part of the characters' lives, but not all that's in their lives. (Wish that some folks here on DU were like that.)

6. No, I didn't see it before the rest of you.
I posted this thread while watching it.

And no, I don't work for the Cartoon Network. Nor Adult Swim.

13. I thought I usually catch it about 2 AM central.
I loved the one when their grand dad had a young stripper he was playing sugar daddy to. God, it was great.

Drawn Together has some great stuff, too.

It's really cutting edge now. I'll see when it's on again. I usually catch it about this time of night.

CatWoman, I'd like to ask you to take a lot at my cartoon for today. It's about Reverend King and something he said that applies to today.
