Whats Everyone's Take On The Arrests In Florida Of The So Called
Home Terrorists?

From what information I have been reading, they are a group of wannabees, and being arrested was good enough for them. However, other reports indicate that they had no capabilities of blowing up the Sears Tower. Pretty much everything they had or was found in the house was on paper.

There never was any actual contact with Bin Laden or his group.

"The Sears Tower is the tallest building in North America and is known for its structural integrity. It is actually comprised of nine separate steel columns of different heights. While 9-11 showed what determined, well-supplied terrorists can do, a single wannabe amateur and a few bodyguards without any connections pose little threat, as the Chicago Police noted"

However, as long as we are fighting them over there, we are always safe here.

Believe that was a quote from some guy who feel off of a couch when he choked on a pretzel

1. I think anything Alberto Gonzales is involved with is bound to be
full of shit.

I wouldn't trust him to operate a gumball machine at K-Mart.

10. Early this morning Ed Levandera (sp?) (CNN mouthpiece in FL)
interviewed some street kid who said they were a peaceful religous group.
Ed then said to Soledad, "When I asked him why the members were called 'soldiers' he didn't have much to say." Didn't show what the kid said-just that it was not much. Thanks for your hearsay bullshit opinion Ed! Happy to have you think for me early in the morning. Asshole.

3. Total bullshit - they totally set those guys up. I don't even think
it was their idea. The undercover guy talked them into to it and I think they said ok for the free boots and $50,000 cash.

Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 04:41 PM by Vincardog
Black Muslims who got together to give self defense classes. They could not even afford boots. They talked to a supposed "Al Quida" FBI stooge. Read the indictment. There is no crime here. Unless you think abuse of power and using these poor folks as political pawns is a crime.

It is a Rovian trick to get us to stop talking about the be-headings

29. That is because they are some poor folks just trying to get by. They
heard that the Muslims gave out money to radicals and said "We are radical, give us some money". And the FBI said "What will you do for us?" They said "KILL A LOT OF PEOPLE".

They had a fantasy not a conspiracy.

6. Possible entrapment. Huge success by Karl Rove to scare white folks
It works in so many levels:

- Fear of the black man
- Fear of terrorists
- Fear of illegal immigrants
- False claim that Bush is "stopping terrorist attacks"

This has been a great week for Rove. He sure is back and in full form, didn't you noticed?

9. I'm thinking it's a bunch of wannabees who were overheard by
somebody who dropped a dime on them. The conversation might have been speculation about what somebody else might do, or it might have been a bunch of angry young men talking about what they'd do if they had a few active brain cells among them.

Who knows?

What is clear is that they were arrested for conversation and for getting sucked into an FBI sting based on that conversation.

At no time did these guys pose a threat to anyone but themselves, stupidity being its own reward.

The FBI is starting to back away from this one. Give it the 72 hour test. If the story holds up in 72 hours, maybe some of it is true. If not, it's just another Big Lie to be absorbed by the stupid, the corrupt and the insane, right on top of pRick Santorums lies about WMDs.

27. That's all the longer it needs to last. Even after it goes away
right wingers will still talk about it as a victory, and use it as proof as bias against the right (because the media didn't cover it for very long)

11. I don't think we will ever hear the truth if it was a setup.
When I read something like this I always ask myself a question, Does it make sense? If not I suspect is is a lie. Truth may be stranger than fiction but not in most cases. In this case it does not make sense and it is an election year.

12. I'm thinking The Mystic Knights of the Sea
This whole event sounds like a scheme Kingfish dreamed up on the Amos 'N Andy show; Kingfish gets scammed trying to scheme for new uniforms for his brothers of "The Mystic Knights of the Sea", and as usual, everything goes horribly wrong.

I am always suspect of sting operations anyway. I always wonder what role in the planning of crimes that the undercover agent plays, and how much they embolden people.
