Los Angeles, California, Marla Gibbs, who played the maid,
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 12:31 AM by rzemanfl
Florence Johnston, on the television show "The Jeffersons" has scheduled a press conference for 9 a.m. PST tomorrow. She is expected to respond, on behalf of actesses who played domestics on TV, to the claim that the late Shirley Booth, who played "Hazel" in the 1960's TV series would have supported Bush's domestic spying policies had she not died in 1992.

9. okay, WHY would anybody think that we would CARE about what some
attention-hungry people say about what someone who died 12 years ago would say about something happening now that didn't occur when they were alive? was shirley booth political in life?

are they consulting spiritualists? honestly, the rw's are really grasping at straws, aren't they?

13. Here's some reasons:
1. Dead people can't contradict you or turn state's evidence.
2. Dead people are smarter than Bush.
3. Who better to know about domestic spying than someone who played a domestic on TV? The damn libruls want to use the opinions of law professors, jurists and constitutional scholars, what do they know about domestic?

This post and the original Booth post were a parody of Pickles sharing with us her opinion on the warrantless spying on citizens, which were followed by posts about the opinions of Barney the dog and Santa Claus.

It is an insight into the depravity of 21st century American politics as practiced by Rove, Mehlman et al, that anyone took these posts seriuously.
