1. very nice!
I was pissed at her, as well, for coming to the defense of a fascist like Alito.

Welcome to DU! :toast:

3. But...
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 07:53 AM by Matt Jordan
..she apparently http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060115/ap_on_go_su_co/alito_158;_ylt=AtFO6zjPH4NXpepe1vuZcLxuCM0A;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl">doesn't support a filibuster (hence the "filibuster" button being off in the cartoon). A bad move in my book. Feel free to disagree.

Edit: And actually, her position is worse than just not supporting the filibuster. It's downright nonsensical, if you ask me.

"But Feinstein, who said she was concerned about Alito's conservative record on abortion rights and deference to executive power, acknowledged the 15-year appellate judge had the legal credentials to serve on the Supreme Court."

The "legal credentials" don't mean squat if the nominee doesn't have a clue as to how the constitution actually works. Alito should be filibustered and it's irresponsible at best for Feinstein to go on national TV and talk the filibuster down the way she did.

Again, in my opinion. :D
