3. Obviously the OP hasn't done so.
But, on the other hand, maybe the OP means Clark is Kerry without the fat of corporate pandering.

In that case, he'd be correct.

9. I....
I don't like what I see in Clark.

The perfumed prince is too vague and "general" in his positions for me. I'd much rather have Gore who is standing, screaming out the values that make us Democrats than Clark sitting on FoxNews advising them on military matters.

He's a part time Democrat and former Republican, an empty head in a filled out suit led by those around him. I'd rather have someone who fights for the very things that I stand for.

Gore *triple thumbs up*

10. Yep... you've just proved you haven't done any research on him.
For one thing, Col. David Hackworth, who first coined that "perfumed prince," took it back tri-fold after interviewing Clark. He apologized for calling him that and praised him to the hilt.

Secondly, why the fuck do you always want to preach to the choir? Unfortunately, Faux has the largest cable audience and is on in tons of barber shops, restaurants and waiting rooms throughout the red states. By being on Faux, Clark is speaking to a huge segment of the population that will never hear the truth from anyone else.

Finally, the man was never a Republican. He was a registered Independent and has been voting Democratic since 1992.

What Freeper rock did you crawl out from under? I'm curious because it sounds like all you know about Clark is Republican talking points.

12. ...
That's right, anyone who disagrees with you is a freeper. Because nobody could look at Clark and dislike what they see. My God we're all so fucking stupid for having a dissenting opinion.

I respect that you have found your candidate and good for you, but he is not the man for me.

I'm preaching to the fucking choir eh? Right. Way to go defending his appearance on Fox. But if you knew anything about ratings you'd know that Fox attracts the long term watchers that are *really* sure that they are Republicans. And I mean *really* sure.

I don't deny that he is a smart man, a politician, but he is not for me. He doesn't exude the strength of the leadership that I would turn to.

(And to be honest I pressed the wrong button, I meant to reply instead of start a new post. However I shall stand and defend my choices for my mistake :P)

13. Then why are you repeating Freeper talking points about Clark?
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 02:56 PM by Clark2008
It's not that I care whether you like Clark or not - he's not everyone's favorite - it's just that everything you alleged against him in making your decision not to like him isn't true. There wasn't any truth in your assertations - not one.

And, I didn't mean YOU were preaching to a choir. I meant that Clark WASN'T by being on Faux News. He's spreading the Dem message to those who probably will never hear it - ever - anywhere else. That takes balls.

And, I'm sorry, but if you don't think Clark is a leader, then I'm positive you know nothing about him or what he truly stands for.

I could understand if you didn't think he was much of a politician or if you had reservations because he hasn't held and office, but he is through-and-through a leader. In fact, that's why I support him. He's NOT a politician, he's a leader.

But, if all you read is corporate media, you'd probably believe that he didn't beat John Edwards in five of the nice primary races they both competed in. You probably don't know he outraised Dean in the first quarter of the primary race in 2004 and you probably didn't hear his earth-shattering speech at the Dem convention.

I feel sorry for you.

11. My oh my....
Glad we can both agrree to the "triple thumbs up" for Gore. Today`s speech was stunning.

As for Clark`s past membership in the Republican Party, I`d find it rather depressing to think
that anyone who ever changes his/her mind must be branded a fraud. I`ve changed my mind many times and I`m proud to admit it. It means I grew....come across important new information....opened my mind to another option or a different path.

I never watch Fox News but I`m sure glad Clark has the courage to appear on that network. Why just preach to the choir? Perhaps he`ll be able to change even a few minds. At the very least, he won`t just sit there and parrot preapproved talking points.

Clark DOES fight for the things I believe in. He was against the invasion of Iraq. He is dead serious about social and economic justice. He understands the importance of diplomacy. I really respect the man.

14. hrm..
The Republican past is really not a huge issue for me. I do know that people change their minds, better themselves even from past experiences. It does worry me a bit though.

I looked at his issue stances in 2004, I know he appealed to me over Kerry and Edwards, but theres something about him that I just didn't like.

In 2008 I will consider him again, but I'd like to see a Gore/Clinton double team.

fyi I was a Dean Supporter and I'm looking forward to Feingold.

She's lethel in all the purple states.

I like Feingold, though.

I want a Clark/Feingold ticket because Gore "ain't" gonna run.

I'm giving odds.

Usually, an anti-Clark remark pulls in 200-300 indignant posts within an hour.
