6. The only problem with this scenario is that I don't think
either of them would (or should) run for VP. I'd be happy with it, either way, but Gore would never take VP again and I doubt Kerry would do it.

13. it would be poetic justice, though, wouldn't it.
Given the facts surrounding the last two presidential elections.

I don't know, but of the two I'd guess Kerry would be more willing to take the veep spot. Gore's "been there and done that" already.

14. It definitely would be poetic justice, karma, ironic
Whatever you want to call it. We'd get two presidents at one time. I agree that of the two, Kerry would be more willing, but I still don't think he'd be willing to do it. It could be sort of a co-presidency.

Somebody who's not Gore/someone else who's not Gore.

5. I don't have just one preference
Hillary, Clark, Feingold or Boxer would all be okay with me.

Personally, I think Hillary would be much smarter to run as VP on a ticket with Gore or another strong candidate before attempting to run for the top spot. She could have a chance to prove herself -- hopefully for 8 years -- and then run for Prez. She'd be in her mid-60s by that time, but that's certainly not too old.

11. Gore/Feingold
Though I think Obama would be the ideal VP in 2008. It will give him the experience and national stage to take over in 2016. If he stays in the Senate then Obama will accumulate a long record that can be used against him in a campaign.

convinced a lot of folks that he's just Hillary without the crucial-to-the-republic video game porn issue.

30. Not THIS Du'er. Al has been at the top of my list for a LONG time.

Particularly since he started breathing fire and kicking ass around the Iraq war, when most of the party was afraid to take a stand.

What perspective do "we" need? It was a GREAT speech. A powerful speech. The kind of speech that SOMEONE NEEDED to give. And the man is the former Vice President of the United States. He's smart, he's articulate, he's got a deep understanding of the crucial issues facing us, from security to the economy to the ENVIRONMENT... Really, what kind of perspective is it that "we" don't have? Watching him for five minutes, it's clear that the man would make a STELLAR President, notwithstanding the fact that he's already been elected to the office once.

Jesus- Al Gore took the initiative to SAY many of the things that many of us have been WISHING our party members would come out and say. What the hell is the problem with that? I'm thrilled- THRILLED- that because of this powerful, pivotal, very IMPORTANT speech, so many of my friends here are coming around to what many of us have been saying for a long time- namely, that If Mr. Al Gore doesn't run for President again, it will be a damn shame and a great loss to our Nation.

21. Of the choices offered:
Gore/Boxer.

I can't say "I don't want Gore." I don't know who I want yet, and I don't know if that person will be Gore when the primaries roll around. I'd like to see him on the contender's list.

Most of those included in the poll are not on my personal contender's list.

I'd still vote for them over our current POTUS/VP.

Actually I voted for Gore/Clark. Imagine, during this "time of war," having a POTUS/VP team who have BOTH served in the military. What a crazy idea.
