5. Thank you, zapp!
My husband knows how to burn CDs, and I might just be able to get him to burn this for me.

4. I like the idea of burning CDs
I'm seeing more and more folks passing films, etc, around so people can see them. It's a really good idea. I'm already compiling a list of people to give them to.

6. Ideas to maximize exposure
Ask Soros to sponsor telecast on PBS.

Raise money to telecast on PBS or MSNBC (Moveon?) during time when people can see it.

Make available as podcast

Ask Time Magazine to run transcript, with link to video (much better)

Ask NYT to run transcript

Ask Lehrer Newshour to play a different segment each night for a week and ask panel to comment

Ask dem leaders to read the speech into the record on the senate floor during Alito fillibuster

Ask Reid to post entire speech on dem party website as transcript and video link.

Ask dem leaders to refer to speech during every interview with media and ask that they include links to speech on ALL OF THEIR INDIVIDUAL WEBSITES

Ask Air America to focus on it...special programming where parts of speech are played then a panel of Air America hosts discuss it. Remember that there used to be a PBS program where a moderator would pose questions to a large panel of experts seated around a table? Where did that go?

Write letters to editors of local papers praising speech as important and timely, include link for readers to get to video

7. Any media strategists around???
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 03:00 PM by C_U_L8R
I'd love to get some "professional" advice on what we should do.....

in the meantime... I'm sending positive letters to editors and producers
encouraging them to cover this important speech ( I'd love to see full
transcripts in newspapers).. and of course, letting all my friends & family
know about it....

(on edit: oh wiggs, those are some great ideas.... it would be great if we
all had bite-sized video clips of various killer points to send around too)

8. Are there any digital video recording of it made?
There must be. Someone could start making DVD burns. I don't have the setup but gosh seems like we could find someone.

9. Burned on DVD
I burned a copy and plan on calling our Democratic Township to have a showing at our library. Also e-mailing a transcript to our newspaper asking them to print it.

13. Reserving library time...
In my village, residents can reserve time at the library for movies or films. Before the last election we had free showings of Fahrenheit 911, In Plane Site, and Outfoxed, just to name a few. I live in a Republican dominant NW suburb of Chicago. At least it used to be Rep. dominate. People are becoming educated in my town.

12. Disguise it as a chain e-mail
Like the ones routinely debunked by Snopes. The certainly seem to make the rounds quickly.
