What methods of fighting back to we have as US Citizens? |
|
Tell me, what do you think we should all do to fight back?
I agree with many of the people who say we should boycott goods, write letters to the editor, create blogs but I don't think that is enough.
I to a great degree feel that our reliance upon the television for entertainment is part of the problem as well, we pay for crappy TV and outlets like Faux News and the rest are just spewing corporate propaganda.
I think we should organize something big. Something massive to say that we reject the corporate media. In the past I have recommended canceling cable tv. Imagine if 1 million Comcast customers just called in and said, "enough is enough...I am not paying for propaganda to be piped into my house anymore"...
What do we do to make a difference???? What are your ideas?

3. When Congress re-opens |
|
crowds of constituents should be waiting at their office doors demanding to know what action their legislators will take on this matter.
We should also be going to their local offices during the current recess and demanding action.

4. I helped organize a workshop this weekend for Dems interested |
|
in getting involved in Democratic Committee and there were people there who were very conservative that had "seen the light" and wanted to get actively involved...people want to do something...we need to give them something they can do. I am at a loss...what do we do...huge marches on Washington didn't do it...peace rallies didn't do it...

2. Massive protest and strikes and civil disobedience that MSM can't ignore. |
|
Remember that MLK and his compatriots fought for years and years and years for their civil rights.

6. Block the entrance to Media businesses with protests and big |
|
signs. Have vigils outside of their offices weekly like Code Pink does in DC. Show up at tapings of anything big with big signs. If something is going on in your town show up with a big sign. Get our message out. We are the media.

|
I myself cut my cable back to basic because I wasn't willing to pay them for their crap...now I only get local channels.
My news comes from the paper and the internet.

Monkeywrench the system. No violence, because they have the Patriot act. The Media will not pay attention, and BushCo doesn't care about any opinions except those from their "base(s)." Continue to vote, but don't expect those votes to be counted the way they should. It is beyond time to march, no one will care or listen at the top.
