You're either with the Constitution, or against the Constitution.
It's not about Bush. It's not about Gore.

The bastards in power have declared themselves dictators; and above the law and Consititution.

3. which one?
the "living one" which bush just mentioned in his pitiful speech at Georgetown?
Or the "strict one" that he says is in place- and should not be 'interpreted' but rather enforced?

I'm confused.

nothing new.

5. The last time I checked, there was only ONE.
Oh my goodness! Hello Blue. Hugs right back with you too. We're going to make it through this, and be that much stronger for it, as Gore said. There is optimism.

9. we're
hanging in Gregorian- and nibbling on hope- thanks for the warmth-
And the encouragement.

bush may claim the Constitution is only a gd piece of paper,(when it works against him)
And then 'invoke' it when it works to his advantage-

But it also could be argued this earth is also just a dirt clod spinning around in space, not a big blue planet, bursting with life, beings, dreams and hopes- promise and sorrows all together, struggling to survive, and thrive.

Perspective i guess-
thinkin of you- wishing you all good things- always.

4. Thanks for making that statement a separate thread.
I've seen it a couple times on DU in the last few days and think we should be repeating it as often as Pukes say "tax and spend," "liberal media," "9/1 Saddam," or any of their other lies.

6. I usually refrain. But it was so much in contrast to the Bush mantra.
I had to post it. One is fear, and the other is hope; Rule of law; Civility.

8. Well, if the enemy of one's enemy is one's friend
Then, since the Bush Republicans are enemies of the Constitution therefore the Constitution is the enemy of the Bush Republicans. And given that they are our enemy as well, it must be that the Constitution is our friend. But wait, that's obvious. What a silly exercise in elementary school logic. Nevertheless, it's a sure thing that since we're not with them (Bush and company), and they really do subscribe to "if you're not with us then you're against us", then... we really are against them. But wait, that's entirely obvious too. So much for finding any insights in these old adages. We all know these sayings are only modestly meaningful and exceptions exist anyway.

However, one old adage (saying 'old' there may well be unnecessary), I think applies, almost insightfully, to the Bush Administration... they could certainly learn from it anyway: "First Law of Holes: When in a deep hole, stop digging.". Of course, Bush doesn't think he's in a hole, and even if he did, his solution would be to "stay the course" and dig his way out--on the other side of the planet.

Can't say it too often for the 40% who still think they have a capable, law-abiding president.

16. Brilliant! This really encapsulates Gore's point
It is above Party. It is timely and it is true. This should be the frame for both the impeachment effort and the elections.

Make bumper stickers with this right now!!!

21. :) I of course love it and it is true and remains true...
It is the central message we should all be saying. I've used it in any and every conversation I have regarding todays politics. I have stopped hardline repubs cold with it. SAY IT LOUD SAY IT OFTEN IT IS TRUE.

24. It is the pledge they ALL take, when they undertake to
represent.. We the People..."to preserve and protect the Constitution, from all enemies, foreign and domestic" Every Congressman, President, Justice and Serviceman take that pledge.

I would rather take that pledge than the insipid pledge to the flag, that piece of cloth, such an easily purloined symbol..

my sig is my pledge...
