No namby pamby beating around the bush...Gores speech went straight to the |
|
heart of everything which we'e been crazed about..skillfully woven together to expose the huge culture of corruption under which we struggle to live...I loved this speech..and as i reflect I'm actually amazed that he covered so much terrirory so effectively...im amazed...
wire tapping war in iraq no wmd cheneys claim that they could have caught 911 with wiretapping fitzgerald abramhoff congress: asleep at the wheel, challenged them to stand up challenged us to stand up whistleblowers rule of law rule of war regarding wiretaps and creation of FISA constitutional background and intention of framers separation of government... intention of the current administration re executive powers and of alito and his assessment as well as how * is attempting to create a puppet scotus(actually not his words) torture the despicable reality of our torturous actions breaking geneva convention acknowledged the threat of terror acknowledged the use of terror to control citizens no connection between osama and saddam layed out the illegality and background of the wiretapping medicare prescription drug benefit suggested television not the best source of current events layed out a plan..including freedom of the internet cited several presidents..eisenthower,lincoln,jefferon....martin luther king.. cease and desist order to accomplice telecommunication companies
and im sure there is more...
and all of that is the reason i come here to DU everyday..and Gore just layed it all out with so much feeling and convicion and outrage....that i just feel a huge sigh of relief

10. Cool your jets, man.... I think Gore was awesome! |
|
I saw the "pre-9/11" piece here on DU. Pretty damning, really, since they use 9/11 as a justification for the "warrantless wiretapping."
I'm sure another poster will help me out with a link.....

9. Exactly. I'd Say He His Speech Was Chock Full Of Enough Facts To Be |
|
effective. I just got done reading the transcript. It was brilliant.
Sad part is the mass population will only see clips here and there or read an item or two in the paper, yet had it have been a prime time network carried speech I would gather by morning 70% of America would be demanding impeachment.

15. Yeah, I noticed that too, but.. |
|
.. after listening to the entire speech, I'm convinced that it was still great.
Gore covered enough issues, and made his points well.
This country is in deep doodoo. The only solution now left us is with the people.
It's up to us.

4. Bill of Particulars against George III |
|
As I read the text, I felt he was laying out the same format as the Bill of Particulars against King George III in the Declaration of Independence, creating a legal framework for impeachment and/or revolution. And doing it brilliantly.

...as you say, covered almost all the ground: these I see as the essence of it (from my european point of view).
Just read the transcript in the bath, and decided to sleep on it before commenting further (enough soundbite 'culture').

24. Gore Good, but long. Missed 72 hour FISA rule. MSM already misleading. |
|
Gore is irrelevant. Gore is looking for attention. Gore said x (but, no y and z uttered) Mhellmom out there, lying.
We're on fire. The country is still scratching its belly. May work as an opening salvo in a longer bloodier battle with Bushes.
