If you watched the debate tonight between holy Joe and Ned Lemont..you would know why our vice presidential candidate faired poorly.

3. And a female advisor who told Gore,, No you do not have to go to WV
and talk to the Union leaders... He didn't and the Union members did not vote for Gore.

5. I beg to differ...many viewers watched Joe as Vice President...
Edited on Thu Jul-06-06 07:45 PM by AlamoDemoc
candidate butchered by Dick Cheney on all foreign policy issues in 2000 vice presidential debates....and we now just witnessed in-experienced national candidate debate with 18 years experienced US senator and a former national candidate perform miserably. WOW! without a doubt, I will be sending money to Ned's campaign tomorrow

9. Well i doubt Lieberman helped any
if it comes to that - just not sure he's the only reason or even the main reason Gore lost.

2. Plus then as is now,,, Joe had a back up plan and was also running
for his senate seat....

IMHO Senator Graham of Florida would have put Florida in Gore total by ~70,000 votes... The Indies loved Graham at that time.

6. Politically incorrect to say it, but Joementum's
constant references to his Faith, only gave more pause to many people who are still anti-semitic (even though they would never admit it in polite company)

and

his readiness to accept bogus military votes.. There were reports on tv of servicement who sent ballots in late, and knew they were late..

and

Joe is a doofus..

I don't know WHY Gore chose him... I think Gore is wondering too

8. I admit my headline on this is bit over the top...but I feel that
what we saw on Joe's performance tonight can be said on many ways that he's not the right candidate for the US Senate

10. While I may disagree with your original post, I wholly agree
with your basic premise

that Smokin' Joe was just fizzlin' right from the git go.

He's never been up to the job. He was one of the Dems that did the most to undermine Hilary Clinton's healthcare initiative - not on its merits but the very concept of it, because he was so invested in the Connecticut insurance industry, and they in him.

I wonder if that was a consideration for choosing him - he was clearly anti-Clinton (or had that perception, because of that) and Gore was being advised to distance himself from Clinton.

11. indeed...your points are to be focused and realized that even
during Clinton years senator Joe was undermining the democratic party without a notice from the democratic populace. Thank you, and well noted, of course.
