Anybody Catch Craig Crawford's Analysis Of The Debate On KO ???
Said Lieberman reminded him of Senator Crocker Jarman from the movie "The Candidate".

Insulted that he even has to be at the debate, and furious for somebody challenging his position of power. Pretty apt if you ask me.

Also said that it seemed as if Lieberman was already talking directly to the swing voters and moderate Republicans, as it appears he feels he's gonna lose the primary.

Again... sounds about right.

1. I missed Crawford's allusion to THE CANDIDATE but it is dead-on
perfect.

Crocker Jarvis.

Absolutely.

4. He'll Cost Us The Seat
Just my negative prediction. For what it's worth. He'll lose the primary, then run as an independent. Split the vote, taking roughly 10-20% from Lamont, and the repub will finish with the most votes and win.

Then Lieberman will find some way to put the blame on Lamont, for ever daring to confront him in the first place.

7. I really wouldn't be too concerned about that
No one even knows who the GOP candidate is. It will be Lieberman or Lamont, however the primary goes down. I suspect if Lieberman runs as an Independent, he'll garner enough Republican and Indpendent votes to win. (Sorry, but that's my bet). But I don't think Schlessinger figures into this at all, really.

Lieberman is CT's kind of Republican.

8. Oh I think he'll split the vote alright, but I don't think it will be the
Dem vote! He has a lot of Pub supporters,a nd if he splits any votes, it will be the Pub ones!

There are always people who like a candidate, but just could NEVER vote for a Dem, but the COULD vote for an Ind.

14. I'm beginning to think so too
As I watched the debate it seemed clear to me that he was targetting repub votes, not Dems. If people are persuaded by his platform, talking points, and nastieness, it will be largely republicans.

9. Yuck! Just imagining the Smarmy Dic_head...
as an elected "independent" Senator? Well, from his perspective, at least he'd be free to show his true colors. No doubt Bush-Cheney would then give him a private Press-Pass to come visit the backrooms of the White House anytime he wants (anytime somebody wants to party?).

10. Leiberman is not a democrat. He just loves himself
and he always has. Everyone hates the war so I think Lamont will beat the pants off both republicans he is running against.
