1. I'll say this: while I think most tinfoilers are idjits 90% of the time... |
|
I just talked to a bunch of moderate Dem lawyers this afternoon and all of them believe Lay is off sipping a Mai Tai in the tropics right about now. Keep in mind that his death happened in his vacation home--one of several homes he and the missus still own. They are loaded, connected, and have at least one former Enron exec friend who's taken an early retirement away from civilization to call on for pointers. Keep an eye on his wife and what she's doing about 12 months from now. His death did loads to protect her assets, legally speaking, from potential lawsuits.
I still think he died. But I don't entirely rule out the possibility that he's pulling a really fast one on the world.

10. Yeh, those can't be fixed. No way, man! Cremation w/in a week, by the way |
|
Look, I'm leaning in favor of him being really dead, too. But people who I NEVER expected to be tinfoily about this are openly and sincerely saying "I don't think he's really dead." These are powerful and affluent corporate defense lawyers saying this, people who know and hang out with the rich & powerful. I just think their bias is worth noting.

3. If his insurance is going to pay |
|
they will require a stiff. period.. he is fucking dead. This whole concept is an embarrassment to thinking people everywhere. not directed at op, just a rant.
The man is dead, the ME signs off, else no insurance.

13. Anyone that doesn't trust the government is a Tin Foil hater |
|
I think it is naive to think that if the CIA wants it done that some moral compass will keep it from happening. The Government has the power to send a couple visitors to the insurance company to assure them that the man is really dead and that investigating it would be a mistake for there corporate interest. At the risk of being labeled a tin foil hatter I think that Bush co had the CIA create a new identity for Lay and arrange the untimely death of same to keep Kenny boy quite and happy to escape from jail. Call me crazy if you will, but it does not pass the smell test for my nose.

.....what a judge would do if he found out something like that happened! No, methinks Mr. Lay is stiff. Surely there is some kind of inquiry into these matters when felons die awaiting sentencing. I can't imagine any judge in a high profile case like this just accepting someone's word for it.

The afternoon talk shows (right wing radio) have been asking people if they think Ken Lay is really dead. The majority of the calls think he is alive and has faked his death. Today was the second day of the calls.
There was caller that said Ken Lay did not commit suicide because he was too good of a Christian. That really cracked me up!

8. There's a LOT of great posts in GD... |
|
I happen to know because I WRITE a lot of them.
Of course some of the weird stuff running past makes it harder to find them sometimes, but let's not broad-brush the whole forum.
